Reality TV star Spencer Pratt is in the process of legally changing his name into King Spencer Pratt. Explaining his name change, the 26-year-old entertainer says, "I've decided since there is a Queen of England and a Prince William that there should be a king of America. I nominate myself for that role." Pratt reportedly has not yet filed the legal papers to adopt the moniker, but plans to do so later this week.
Spencer Pratt is best known as one of the cast members of MTV's "The Hills". His wife, Heidi Montag, also stars in the reality series. They have been married since April 25, 2009.
Spencer and Heidi often become the target of tabloid mock due to their antics. Most recently, Pratt publicly told reporters that he considers Heidi "the new, modern-day, 2010 Michael Jackson". He then went on saying, "Michael Jackson's in heaven. The Holy Spirit now has extra Michael Jackson juice, so boom! For all we know, Heidi gets possessed with some of that Michael Jackson divine spirit."
