Beyonce Knowles and Wale Join MTV VMAs' Performers Line-Up

Beyonce Knowles will deliver 'Sweet Dreams', while Wale and UCB will serve as the official house band for 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles has been announced by MTV to take the stage of this year's Video Music Awards as a musical guest. The R&B singer who leads the awards' nominations along with Lady GaGa with nine kudos is set to sing "Sweet Dreams" off her latest album "I Am...Sasha Fierce".

Another musician added to the event's performers list is rapper Wale. Alongside go-go band UCB, the rapper will serve as the official house band for the gala ceremony which will take place on September 13.

The 26th Annual MTV Video Music Awards will be hosted by British comedian and actor Russell Brand. Beside having Beyonce, Wale and UCB, the show will also be glittered with performances from Taylor Swift, Muse, Green Day, Pink, Jay-Z and Lady GaGa.

Nelly Furtado, Leighton Meester, Miranda Cosgrove, Katy Perry, Ne-Yo and Chace Crawford, meanwhile, will present awards at the ceremony. Furthermore, Death Cab for Cutie's new song "Meet Me on the Equinox", which is chosen as the first single from "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" soundtrack album, will get its debut in the forthcoming show.
