On Monday, August 24, it was announced the pairings that will take over the dance floor this season on "Dancing with the Stars". Most of them have leaked out last week either through unconfirmed reports or as informed by the celebrities themselves. None missed the spot.
Former House Majority leader Tom DeLay will get the assistance of Cheryl Burke who almost became a third-time champ last season had Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas not win. Ballas himself this time around will lead actress Melissa Joan Hart. They had tweeted each other on Friday, August 21 with Hart greeting "Hiya partner! I'm so excited to get this season started! Can't wait to waltz tomorrow."
As previously reported, Ashley Hamilton indeed gets his father's former partner, Edyta Sliwinska, while Donny Osmond is partnered with Kym Johnson. New to know is the partner of Macy Gray, who will be none other than Jonathan Roberts whose most successful season was when he was paired with Marie Osmond. Roberts' wife Anna Trebunskaya, meanwhile, is going with martial art fighter Chuck Liddell.
Kelly Osbourne gets "So You Think You Can Dance" ballroom choreographer Louis van Amstel as partner while NFL star Michael Irvin gets last season's pro dancer champ Anna Demidova.
The couples have been practicing for days in preparation of the season premiere on September 21. A change has been made regarding the rehearsals to avoid injuries that plagued last season's line-up. "There's a rule now that we're not allowed to train for more than five hours a day for the first two weeks," Burke told E! News. "After every two hours, you have to have a 30-minute break. And we have to have one full day off a week."
