confirms that he has been signed to Decca Records. Following the announcement, it is revealed that the runner-up of "" season two is also prepping a new studio album which is expected to be released in 2010.

"Clay Aiken signs record deal with Universal Music's Decca Records," so a statement on his official website read. "Expect new music in the first half of 2010! Keep checking back here for more details to come."

Decca Records is the home for the likes of , , , Placido Domingo, Branford Marsalis, , , Paula Cole and Sonya Kitchell among others.

Rumor that Clay Aiken parted ways with RCA Records emerged since February. The speculation started swirling in the media after Aiken's name, message board and press materials are no longer found on the label's official website. His absence from the opening of the "American Idol" Experience at Disney World also added more fuel to the report.

I will buy his next CD. I thought that it was awful that they kicked him out of the building when he paid American Idol a free (he just showed up) visit because he refused to resign with 19 Management. Greedy idiots, I hope that they will learn their lesson or they will get what's coming to them. I hope that his next CD tops the charts so that it will show them that they can't blacklist everyone to the point that they won't get anymore work.

"Clay never once complained or made his fights with the label public."........... Yes he did. More than once, and even on stage in concert. Get your story up to speed. You can't fool people with your lies. When Decca doesn't measure up according to what the claymates think Clay should be getting, they will turn on Decca. Just like they turned on RCA.

I've been off doing other things for the last few years but today decided to check in on Clay. So happy to hear this news. In the past I have met such wonderful Clay fans at concerts and other events. I'm hoping we will be able to reconnect and hear Clay's amazing voice again. Congrats to Clay and glad to see so many fans still supporting such a wonderful man and voice.

Moving on to bigger and better things with Decca.... absolutely! Clay is a smart man and always knows what he is doing. This alignment with Decca is well planned, good move. Anyway I always like Clay's performances. They are unique. He is unique.

......RE: posted by marianne on Aug 17, 2009..... Sara knows exactly what she's talking about! LOL Claymates are blind. I am not a hater, and don't follow anybody anywhere. Claymates are the ones who go everywhere spamming polls for Clay. Clay was dropped; deal with it. Decca is a label that deals in covers and classical music. We'll see what he puts out, how badly it sells, and then the claymates will blame Decca for it. The koolaid drinking claymates are the most predictable people ever, are followers, and don't have a clue. They are nasty people, wreaking havoc wherever they go; always alienating fans who disagree with whatever snake oil they're peddling. How's that working out for 'ya? HaHaHaHaHa!

Sara doesn't know what she is talking about. One of those haters that follows Clay fans around the net talking out of it's ass. No one really dropped anyone. It was time for contract negotiations, Clay didn't like what RCA offered and decided to move on. As simple as that. Anyway, I am very happy with the signing with Universal Music Group's Decca Records. They seem like a very innovative label.

It does not matter what Clay does; he always does it in his own amazing way. I am sure with Decca, he will be bringing out the "new music" in his own anazing way. Go ahead Clay, amaze us again and again and again..

HaHaHaHa. Clay did not dump RCA. RCA dumped Clay due to poor record sales. Claymates are lying again. LOL When Decca doesn't give him the airplay and promo they think he's going to have, the claymates will turn their anger on Decca. They've done it to RCA for years. Decca, Beware!!! Classy guy? Classy artists don't dump on their fans. Classy artists don't criticize others, and gather up their remaining fans to do their dirty work. Clay didn't have "TMG" surgery; nor did he have TMJ surgery. More like plastic reconstructive surgery. Get it right.

Fantastic! RCA never gave Clay the time of day except to force him to put out a covers album instead of the new one he had completed. Thank God he's with another label. I can't wait for his new album from his new label. Stephie Your personality is just not attractive at all. Why do you care whether Clay has male fans or not? What difference could it possibly make to you? I've been a Clay fan for years and I personally know many, many men that are fans of his. I have met tham and have been in contact with them. Contact me if it means that much to you and I'll give you their info.

I can't wait to see what happens when Clay's albums are available overseas. He has thousands of fans in Japan, Korea, Indonesia and Singapore, but they don't know him at all in Europe. Decca takes care of that!

CONGRATULATIONS CLAY!! There is not one singer that deserves this more than Clay . Now he can be and sing just how he wants to sing and that's just fine by me! RCA let him slip away and now it's DECCA's gain ! WE AIN'T HEARD NOTHING YET!

stephie, anyone who could make such an ugly comment about an innocent child's mother, must be ugly inside and out. Congrats, Clay! You're so deserving of this contract.

How much did David Foster, Aiken's incubator's brother, have to pay Decca to sign that has-been? *waves to "Fernando"* I know you're a FEMALE Claymate! The old "Make up a male name so people will think Clay Aiken has male fans" trick Claymates have used for years. LOL!!

This is fantastic news. Clay has a stupendous voice, and I have seen him in concert. He was just tremendous on stage. Decca scored a winner here, and I will be thrilled if they promote him in a way RCA never would. Can't wait.

Can't wait till he gets the promotion and the management he deserves with no American Idol meddling and manipulation in sight.
