Tired of his normal, ordinary and predictable life, 14-year-old Darren takes an interesting offer to be a vampire and joins a traveling freak show, the Cirque Du Freak.
Darren yearns to have something more than a normal, ordinary and predictable life, and things are about to get freaky around him. The brand new trailer for "The Vampire's Assistant" released through Moviefone offers a look at how things get interesting in the life of the 14-year-old boy when he finds himself among a snakeboy, a wolfman, a bearded lady and other monstrous creatures.
Stumbling upon a pamphlet of Cirque Du Freak, Darren and his best friend Steve satisfy their curiosity by checking out the traveling freak show. And, when the show ends, Darren gets an offer he couldn't bear to resist, becoming a vampire. But, one thing that he doesn't know is that he unknowingly breaks a 200-year-old truce between two warring factions of vampires.
Now, pulled into a fantastic life of misunderstood sideshow freaks and grotesque creatures of the night, he will vanish from the safety of a boring existence and fulfill his destiny in a place drawn from nightmares. Chris Massoglia stars as Darren, Josh Hutcherson as Steve, John C. Reilly as Larten Crepsley, Salma Hayek as bearded lady Madame Truska, Ken Watanabe as Mr. Tall and Jane Krakowski as Cormac Limbs among others.
