A representative for actor Shemar Moore confirms to E! News that the "Criminal Minds" star is recovering from broken leg which he suffered after being hit by a car over the weekend. The representative states Moore is "doing well, considering, and is resting comfortably at home after a brief hospital sojourn."

Moore was bike riding in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 1 when he was suddenly struck by a car. Following the accident, he was taken to an L.A.-area hospital where he was treated for his broken leg and was released soon thereafter.

No word if Moore is planning to seek legal action against the car's driver, whose identity was not made public.

Shemar Moore is best known for starring as Malcolm Winters on CBS' "The Young and the Restless". It was the character that won him Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Daytime Emmy Award in 2000. The fifth season of his latest TV project "Criminal Minds", in the meantime, will be kicked off in September.
