U2, Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder will hit Madison Square Garden for the 25th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

AceShowbiz - Both U2 and Bruce Springsteen have been billed as performers at a two-night concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In this gig, they will be joined by other stars, such as Metallica and Eric Clapton.

U2 and Bruce are set to sing on October 29, while Metallica and Eric are confirmed to entertain music lovers the next day. In addition to those four musicians, there will also be other musical guests which include Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Simon & Garfunkel.

This live concert is planned to be held at New York City's Madison Square Garden. Words are, it will be televised on HBO in November. "These once-in-a-lifetime concerts are designed to celebrate the artists and their music," Jann S. Wenner, the event's executive producer, told Rolling Stone.

All proceeds from the concerts will go toward creating a permanent endowment for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and Museum. "Twenty-five years ago a group led by legendary Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun created this foundation to recognize and celebrate the music and careers of artists whose music helped shape and define our generation," Jann said.
