Giant transforming robot, Unicron, has been voted as the #1 Transformers audience most like to see in "Transformers 3", a poll by IGN revealed, but producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is unsure whether the character will be getting screen time in the "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" follow-up. The filmmaker has shared his worries on Unicron during the London press junket for "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" on Wednesday, July 22.
"Unicron worries me because it's so big that it dwarfs emotion. It's so hard, because when you're working to that scale, it sort of becomes outside any kind of human reality you have," di Bonaventura responded when asked by IGN about the likelihood of the baddie appearing in the third movie. "It's obviously a great character, and one that we're definitely going to talk about, but for me personally - and I'm not the only vote here - that one scares me."
"Because of its size, it becomes sort of impersonal when it gets to that scale. I remember seeing the second Fantastic Four and Galactcus, and suddenly I was in another world and it took it away from the human characters. One of the tricky parts about Transformers is you've got these five-to-six foot things called humans, then you've got the 32-foot Transformers, then you come to Devastator and you've got 125-feet."
"You become increasingly small on a physical level, and I think that's true on a story level. I think if you go to Unicron, you're going to end up sacrificing your human characters. And for me that worries me because I like the human characters." He then added, "Don't get me wrong - Unicron is an obvious and great character, I just worry about it from the experience of the movie."
As for the character he would like to see in the next film, he immediately pointed out on Mini-Cons. "I love the Mini-Cons actually - I think they're very cool. I love the lore - every time we approach one of these movies, we go back and read everything we can about it - that's how we came across the Fallen," he said.
Elaborating more on his answer, he stated, "I thought that was such an interesting idea - that there's sort of a Judas within the mythology. For me, I like the surprise of that. Each time I sit down to give my vote, I like to re-read it and discover what I think. But I think the Mini-Cons are really cool."
"Transformers 3" is reportedly aimed for Independence Day holiday in 2011. Earlier, reports came out that director Michael Bay is likely to drop his involvement in the third film. However, he was quick to deny by posting a message at his Shoot for the Edit forums, "Hah, love press how they spin. Never said it - just wanted a vacation is more to the point. And no I don't read the good or the bad reviews."

It's not unicorn. Micheal bay revealed that Shockwave will be the new villian.
So, bring in Unicron. Make him able to fit on earth, though. Give him some re-sparking abilities, and bring back EVERY DECEPTICON THE AUTOBOTS EVER KILLED! This time, I think Bonecrusher and Demolisher should get more screen time. Because wtching previews, I thought the fight with Demolisher would be epic, but he died quick, and so did Bonecrusher. Maybe, for an idea, you could make Optimus go against a black and purple Decepticon Optimus. I'll admit, I saw that on google images,but it looks SO COOL.
Luke thank you for agring with me but i'll help you out here with this one i think Unicron in planet mode should be the size of half of manhatten island and in robot mode the size of manhatten island but yeah he should be a demonic loking robot and the fallen needs to come back defintly like unicron brings him back from the dead and besides Megatron,The Fallen and Unicron are one of my favorite villains and starscream too but the live action Starscream is not like the G1 version because the live action version of him is loyal to megatron not againest him like the G1 version. and also i hear Michael is going to introduce Shockwave and i must yippie!!! so again thank you for agring with my last comment thank you Luke.
I like Jessemans idea. but dont make megatron an autobot .like in the 2nd movie the forest fight you guys need to have 2 autobots in one main fight not through the entire movie though.you need optimus and ironhide to fight the fallen he definetley needs to come back but make him stronger have them fight megatron the fallen and one other new huge strong decepdecon but unicron hes to big .make the fight in a city.my opinion is take unicron out or make him smaller

I think they should call the new movie TFs: RISE OF THE SUPERIOR PRIMES,it sounds like an awsome and cool title.It would really grab the audience!!!!!
I think unicron sucks . Have Starscream,Demolisher and Soundwave revolt against Megatron and have Megatron surrender to Prime after a last battle and join the Autobots. When the Decepticons attack led by Starsream have Ironhide defeat Demolisher. Let Bumblebee and the other Autobots fight the Decepticons while Prime and Megatron defeat Starscream and Soundwave. Prime kills Soundwave and Megatron kills Starscream.At the end, Sam Witwicky marries mickala. The End
I want to see Unicron in the third movie because that would be awesome and he is the Ultimate Evil in transformers and i'm guessing he will be demonic looking and it would also be awesome if the Fallen returns from the dead because he was only in the 2nd film for 10 minutes but he was cool so yeah Unicron in Transformers 3 and The Fallen returns from the dead.
I would love to have them bring both Primus and Unicron into the next movie. What I mean is them having Sam and Mikealia bring Primus out of his self-imposed slumber get to Earth just in time with modifications made to him that enables him to destroy Unicron himself before he destroys Earth!
Yeah I think what Bay and this writer don't understand is that the humans were never the main characters! Optimus was the lead, not two morons who can't act. What kind of transformers fan wouldn't want to see Unicorn and be totally blown away by it?! And "being outside of any kind of human reality," that's kind of the point of science fiction, isn't it?
I think Unicron would be good, but we would have to find a very good voice for him, since Orson Welles died over 20 years ago. David Warner is a likely candidate.

Have Galvatron kill Optimus Prime? No chance in hell. They already killed Optimus in Transformers ROTF. We don't need a second death.
I think Unicron is a great idea for Transformers 3. he's a cool villain and it would be a great ending for the Transformers movies. But please. no more human story. I don't care about Sam Witwicky and Megan Fox. I want to see giant robots killing each other. And please kill Skids, Mudflap and Wheelie. I hate those characters. It would be nice if they were eaten by Unicron. The only robots I would like to come back in Transformers 3 is Jetfire, Brawl and Barricade.
They could put Unicron in the movie and make it work just fine they could take a page out of the old movie and have them fight in side him but even if they did have him in it they would just have the humans kill him with one shot like the did with Devastor so sad they could have a big fight but it well never happen they don't care what we want just some dum thing they want
i think they should do somthing with unicron in it because it would be a great movie...but if they dont they should do something on before the autobots and decepticons came to earth and have it on the war on cybertron

Also if they are going to add more transformers they should add Ultra Magnus but he sould die at the end be sacrifice to save bumblebee. And they should add Tidal wave to the movie.

Unicron is very debatable, but they should add Rodimus and Minicons. I don't like the Galvatron idea, and Soundwave & Jolt need more screentime.
You don't kill optimus. And if you watched the series Optimus beat that pretender awful Rodimus.
you can't have a character like unicron in a movie, it's like having megatron be turn into a hand gun, it just doesn't work. They would not be able to get it right and people would hate it. They can't make a movie just for the die hard fans, they can only do something that would work for a larger audience. If they through in nemisis prime or something that would be cool and do able not some huge planet.
who the hell watched the Transformers movies for the human characters (except for Megan Fox)? They were just distractions from the CGI destruction porn anyway.
Rather than having new charicters they should have more charipter develipment and screen time for charicters like starscream and ironhide ect.They should get rid Megan and Shia.
I think they should do a more Bayish version of the 1986 transformers movie for transformers 3. And if it ends up being called transformers 3 rise of unicron, that's fine by me. I love the character, he's my favourite character so I don't really see what the problem is. First the mightly Megatron, then the powerful fallen, and now they should put the villainy up a noch and make Unicron scare the living daylight's out of earth.
I think that transformers 3 should be like armada with a space ship full of minicons hits earth and megatron wants to use their power as a energy wepon or something
The main problem w/ Unicron is he's a story all by himself. It's a lot like X Men w/ Wolverine. Now if they did something like that it's fine. Before, Earth and humans got invovled. Thats, fine. Theres, more to Transformers than just Unicron. Unicron is beyond Autobot or Decepticon. They should change some characters. Like,I said in previous post. Maybe have Starscream kill Megatron, the rest of Decepticons revolt against Starscream. Have Megatron come back as Galvatron. Add Ultra Magnus & Superion or Hot Rod (Dodge Challenger). Have Galvatron kill Optimus. Hot Rod takes over turns into Rodimus Prime as a plot. Then, bring Unicron into the picture. Have the Autobot and Decepticons join forces and aid the Humans to fight Unicron.
He doesnt want Unicron because he wants people to drool over Megan Fox thats why. They pay Shia and her loads and they want their moneys worth.
I think they should include Stunticons/Menasor to take the place of Devastor. Also to be better match for the Autobots. Turn Magatron into Galvatron, finally.If people don't get Transformers now.They, will never get it. Please, get rid of Skids & Mudflap. They got on mine nerves. I think Unicron could work, but they would have to change him( size,etc) Unicron could have an decepticon army at his command, Unicron could be like a robot commander and base for decepticons. Or something like that. I wish that Ravage could come back for the thrid film. He and Soundwave both should have more screentime, as should he feud between the mighty Starscream and Megs.
