Kelis is currently in labor, TMZ reports. Her estranged husband Nas is in New York City for the birth of the baby and has been "rushing to the hospital to be with her," his representative has confirmed. The baby will be the first for Kelis and the second one for Nas. He has one daughter, named Destiny, from a previous relationship.
Kelis and Nas had been married for more than four years when they announced their separation earlier this year. She filed for divorce from him in late April, just one month after Nas publicly confirmed that he and Kelis are expecting their first child, a baby boy. Citing irreconcilable differences in her divorce papers, Kelis seeks spousal support and child support in addition to seeking the joint legal and physical custody of their not-yet-born son.
Due to her hospitalization, Kelis is unable to attend a scheduled court hearing to discuss child support and pre-natal expenses. Nas also can't come to the court, reports TMZ.
