While the main star Maura Tierney is undergoing medical evaluation, NBC postpones the plan to air 'Parenthood' this Fall.

AceShowbiz - NBC is rooting for its star to heal first before coming back to work. "Parenthood", one of the new series that the Peacock offers this Fall, has been shelved for midseason premiere in order to give Maura Tierney time to recuperate from an undisclosed illness.
"Start of production on NBC Universal's new series 'Parenthood' has been postponed for eight weeks due to medical evaluation that valued cast member Maura Tierney is undergoing," NBC said in a statement released to THR. "The top priority for NBC, Universal Media Studios and Imagine Television is the well-being of Ms. Tierney. We are unable to release further details and ask that you respect her privacy at this time."
In "Parenthood", Tierney plays Sarah who is one of the four Braverman siblings. She is a financially-challenged single mother who returns home to her parents and siblings in Berkeley, Calif.
NBC will air Michelle Trachtenberg-starring medical drama "Mercy" as replacement. It portrays the lives of the staff at Mercy Hospital as seen through the eyes of those who know it best - its nurses.
