Michael Jackson's Family Denies Hosting Public Viewing at Neverland

Denying reports that public and private memorial services for the late singer were set to be held at Neverland, a rep for his family claims plans for public memorial service are still underway.

Earlier reports claiming public and private funerals for have been set to be held at Neverland this week are denied by his family. In a statement released through their representative on Wednesday, July 1, the Jacksons confirmed, "Contrary to previous news reports, the Jackson family is officially stating that there will be no public or private viewing at Neverland. Plans are underway regarding a public memorial for Michael Jackson, and we will announce those plans shortly."

On Wednesday, July 1, reports were mounting that a public memorial service for the late music performer was set to be held at his Neverland Ranch estate in Santa Barbara, California this coming Friday, July 3. A private memorial service, additionally, was planned for Sunday, July 5. Due to the planned services, Michael's body reportedly would be transported from Los Angeles to Neverland via a 30-car motorcade. The motorcade was set to leave Los Angeles at 10 A.M. Thursday, July 2.

Now that news of the memorial services has been disputed by Michael's family, new speculation emerges memorial service for Michael is planned to be held in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, funeral will likely be held at the Staples Center next week. However, there has been no official statement made by Michael's family regarding any memorial plans.
