What if you live in a world where no one but you has ever told a lie? Through a newly-released trailer of "The Invention of Lying" from Yahoo! Movies, it can be seen how Mark Bellison deals with living in such world. Having to swallow one painful truth about him after another in daily basis, he is about to change his luck.
When he goes to a bank one day, he tries to tell a lie and it works, making him the man who utters the world's first lie. Learning that the lies he told can work to his advantages, he seizes the opportunity for personal gain. The trailer features first look at Ricky Gervais as Mark, Jennifer Garner as Jennifer, Rob Lowe as Rob and Tina Fey as Shelley.
Gervais teams up with Matthew Robinson to pen and direct "The Invention of Lying", which was originally being produced under the title "This Side of the Truth". It started shooting in Lowell, Massachusetts in April 2008 before wrapping it up in early June 2008. Jonah Hill and Jason Bateman also play a part in it. "Lying" is set to hit U.S. theaters September 25.
