A funeral service for reportedly has been planned to be held at a Catholic cathedral in Los Angeles in the next few days and her son Redmond James O'Neal, who is imprisoned on drugs charges, is expected to be present. Radar Online quotes sources close to the young man as revealing that a removal order allowing Redmond to attend the service has been signed by Commissioner Jane Godfrey.

Still according to those sources, Redmond will be allowed to come to the funeral wearing a suit instead of his prison attire. In related news, Radar Online also reports that Redmond is devastated by the death of his actress mother and has "committed to his sobriety to honor her because he promised he would stay clean for her."

Farrah Fawcett lost her battle against anal cancer, with which she was first diagnosed back in 2006, on Thursday, June 25. She was pronounced dead at 9:28 A.M. PST at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. where she'd been treated for more than two weeks due to complications for the particular disease. She was 62.

Farrah's longtime partner Ryan O'Neal, who also fathers Redmond James O'Neal, has confirmed the actress' death, telling reporters she received the last rites of the Catholic Church. As of press time, date of the funeral hasn't been announced just yet.

May Farrah rest in the arms of almight God. I will always remember her smile and that laugh of her's made me giggle. I'm 45 years old and when she first appeared on the Partrige Family in 1970 and the on the Six Million Dollar Man. I simply fell in love with her. God bless you Farrah, sleep well. You're still my favorite angle.

Prisoners are often taken to the funerals of family members. Of course they must be minimal security prisoners with a low risk for flight.

It is a blessing that she passed. She suffered so long. I don't understand why her son gets to leave jail for the service? No one else would get special treatment...why him?

I am glad Redmond gets to attend his mother's funeral. Are you sure others are not permitted to attend family funerals? I have never known anyone in jail let alone a a prisoner whose mother has just died. I am all for Redmond getting to say good-bye to his beautiful mom. Farrah will be looking down on her funeral and smiling her famous smile! You will be missed!
