Richard Kelly's 'The Box' Gets Intense First Trailer

Cameron Diaz and James Marsden are given one tough decision to make when a box mysteriously appears in their doorstep and Frank Langella explains about its fatal and irrevocable consequences.

Norma and Arthur Lewis are an ordinary suburban couple whose dreams are slipping away as their need for money increasingly grows. But, everything in their life is about to change as seen in the firstly-outed trailer for "The Box". Providing a look inside the life of the couple before and after a box mysteriously appears in their doorstep, the sneak peek comes from Moviefone.

Soon after Norma finds the box, a mysterious stranger comes knocking on their door. Showing what is inside the box, the man then offers the couple $1 million if they press the button within 24 hours. However, should they do that, another human being somewhere in the world will simultaneously end up dead. Now, Norma and Arthur find themselves in the crosshairs of a startling moral dilemma and face the true nature of their humanity.

Based on the 1970 short story "Button, Button" by author Richard Matheson, "The Box" comes from the director of "Donnie Darko", Richard Kelly. It sees Cameron Diaz and James Marsden teaming up as the couple, and Academy Award-nominated Frank Langella as the mysterious man. This Warner Bros. Pictures movie will be released in U.S. theaters October 30.
