Named Sexiest Man on the Planet by Britain's Heat Magazine, Robert Pattinson says he is cool with the newly-attached predicate. "I'm not really afraid of it though because I don't really know how to play up that aspect of it. I don't know if I could ever really be cast in a heartthrob role really - apart from Twilight, which I didn't really know was a heartthrob role. I really don't feel I am one," he explains.
Nabbing the particular title, Robert beats Hollywood A-list actors, including Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and Zac Efron. "Robert is obviously very easy on the eye, but a lot of his popularity has to be down to the character Edward he plays in Twilight - strong, brooding and tortured, basically most women's fantasy boyfriend," says the magazine's editor, Julian Linley.
Robert Pattinson, who is currently filming his upcoming film "Remember Me," previously told reporters that he considered his new found fame after starring as Edward Cullen in "Twilight" strange. "I just don't get the immediate-recognition thing. I was at the Frankfurt airport yesterday, and people just immediately know who you are. It's never, 'Are you ...?' It's just like, 'Can I have a photo?'," he claimed.

He is not a really good actor for the moment, but he has potential, and if he works, chooses interesting roles (as Depp, Pitt an diCaprio did), he could be one of the "great". Of course, his looks surely helps him, but it can be such a double-edged sword... Keep working Rob

Rob is so hot n totally deserves his new found fame! he seems like a really genuine n down 2 earth guy i just wish everyone wud leave him alone n stop spreading gossip! Cant wait 2 watch all the films hes working on especially the rest of the twilight saga- books r amazin! Love his work and him. N hopes he brings out an album his music n voice is brilliant!
Rob's a cool guy. He seems level headed and genuinely nice. I hope he really shines in his next movie. I just enjoy watching him like every other woman in the world and I want to see him improve his acting skills with every film. I want him to be a huge success so he can live up to all the hype. See, this is what we all need to realize. The ones who post comments on message boards and constantly worship Robert are his fans, mostly from the Twilight series. The magazine editor from Vanity Fair is entirely right on that issue. For further reinforcement on that point, Pattinson wasn't even recognized in any way when he played Cedric Diggory in the fourth iteration of Harry Potter. When Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp made their first appearances, they were immediately recognized and even put on good performances. Pattinson, as "Not sexy at all" stated, is a flash in the pan star who's fame is entirely derivative of the Twilight franchise. He's a great person, but his acting is only average and his fame isn't exactly deserved.

This is why I love Rob and why this wonderful man will go far in Hollywood. He is so humbled. He is a heartthrob to his fans. What I don't agree with in the article is his fame being connected to the Edward. That got him noticed, but that is not what is keeping him there. Rob is just a one-of-a kind actor who's special talents will make HL stand up and take notice. You keep up the great work Rob and I look forward to seeing you in other roles.
Cole, in response to your post. I am not some screaming teenager. I am a 34 year old woman who knows what she likes in an actor. He is very sexy and you are jealous. Also, that crab your saying about him not deserving his fame is just plain idiotic. I would like to see you put up with what he has to put up with on a daily basis. Rob has worked very hard to get where he is and one day, all of these haters, including you, will be sorry for slamming him. Rob does not need people like you trying to tear him down so if you don't have something nice to say than don't say it at all. Sidenote-I like Rob the person not the actor and I knew of his acting ability way before Twilight. He has played in other movies before and this is just the tip of the iceberg for Rob.
He is starting out just the way Brad Pitt did. Brad couldn't act worth a crap, but now he can. It takes a while to get in the groove, but you get those fans going and they are just diehard. They also said Brad smelled and didn't shower often, and they also said that about Johnny Depp. Robert is next in line. He is no flash in the pan, and I am not some little girl with a crazy crush on a movie star. I know what I am talking about. Let's just sit back and watch how it all goes down. That is the interesting part. I wish him the best, but it's gonna be a harder road than he realizes. We'll see how he handles it. Johnny had his tough times too.
