Take a look at the first teaser trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's live-action adaptation of animation series, 'Avatar: The Last Airbender', featuring the air-bending effects.
After being briefly previewed at Entertainment Tonight, the first teaser trailer of "The Last Airbender" has finally arrived. Nearly two minutes long, the promotional video takes all of the attention to main character Aang as he stands in the middle of circling candles inside a temple and practices his air-bending skills.
While the footage shows Aang and what he is capable to do, it is explained through a narration that the 10-year-old is the last of his kind, the lone survivor of the peaceful Air Nomads. The narrator continues that some believe that he is the chosen one who will once again bring balance to a world that is filled with the ravaging war, and some will stop at nothing to destroy him.
"The Last Airbender" is a live-action film version of Nickelodeon's animated series of the same name. To be differentiated from James Cameron's "Avatar", it has dropped "Avatar" from its title. The film follows Aang and is set in a world where human civilization is divided into four nations: Water, Earth, Air and Fire.
With the help of a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara and her bull-headed brother Sokka, Aang proceeds on a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world. But, his goal will meet a tough challenge from exiled Fire Nation's evil prince Zuko who is sent to capture the Avatar in order to restore his honor and right to the throne.
Reportedly planned to be the first of a three-picture story arc, "Last Airbender" is directed, produced and penned by "The Sixth Sense" helmer/writer M. Night Shyamalan. It stars Noah Ringer as Aang, Dev Patel as Zuko, Nicola Peltz as Katara, Jackson Rathbone as Sokka and Jessica Jade Andres as Suki. It is slated for July 2, 2010 U.S. release.
