Two Character Posters From 'Sherlock Holmes'
Movie

Robert Downey Jr. is captured in one of these 'Sherlock Holmes' one-sheets with a cocky expression on his face in contrast to serious looking Jude Law seen in another.

AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. have debuted two character posters for Guy Ritchie-directed "Sherlock Holmes" via Yahoo! Movies. The two one-sheets bring the attention to two of the action movie's major characters, Sherlock Holmes played by Robert Downey Jr. and his sidekick Dr. Watson portrayed by Jude Law.

Serving as a reminder that the movie is coming out on Christmas Day, both of the character posters carry different taglines. The one with Holmes in the center of the piece brings about "Nothing Escapes Him", while the other one which sees serious-looking Watson with a cane over his shoulder gets "Crime Will Pay" tagline.

Based on Lionel Wigram's upcoming comic book, "Sherlock Holmes" is the first major big-screen version of "Sherlock Holmes" in more than 20 years. It will present a new portrayal of Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous characters. In it, Holmes together with his partner Dr. Watson will battle a new nemesis using his fighting skills which are as lethal as his legendary intellect, and unravel a deadly plot that could destroy the country.

In addition to Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, the movie will see Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler, Holmes' love interest, and Mark Strong as the main villain, Lord Blackwood. Originally expected to make its debut in U.S. theaters on November 20, it is now due for December 25 release.
