Bouncing from 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles', the actor is playing a baddie in The CW's series.

AceShowbiz - Brian Austin Green may fail in reaching a deal to appear on "One Tree Hill" or to have his new pilot "The Body Politic" being picked up for Fall, but he is still a commodity to The CW. The actor has been cast to appear on the network's other series "Smallville", playing none other than DC Comics villain, Metallo.

TV Guide which was first to come up with the story has confirmed that Green is the half-cyborg whose source of power is Superman's weak point, kryptonite. The character will appear in at least the first two episodes of Season 9 which is kicked off September 25.

Metallo was first introduced in the comic books in 1959 as a journalist in "Daily Planet" named John Corben. He encountered a near-fatal accident and got nearly disfigured, but was saved by scientist Professor Vale who transferred his brain into a robotic body with artificial skin.

Meanwhile, the casting for another villain, General Zod, is not yet announced.
