Michael Sheen Talks 'New Moon' Experience

The actor who plays Lucian in the 'Underworld' series shares a thing or two on taking the role of Aro in 'The Twilight Saga's New Moon' as well as his experience working with the 'Twilight' cast.

will be seen in theaters later this year portraying Aro, the leader of the Volturi, in "", and he has shared his thoughts on taking participation in the highly anticipated vampire drama. In a chat with Empire, the 40-year-old discusses issues from his opinion in playing the secondary role to what he thinks of the young cast.

"I'm all done on it; I had a great time," the BAFTA-nominated actor notes when asked about his Aro role in the movie. "It was nice to go in and not be playing the main part, just go in for a few days and play this really really extraordinary character. I remember I was thinking, 'Oh, there's a bit of a Child Catcher here [from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang]; bit of the Blue Meanie from The Yellow Submarine; bit of Olivier from Richard III. There was a bit of all kinds of stuff."

Praising director Chris Weitz for making the atmosphere in the set fun and relaxing, he goes on to talk about how he is not used to be on the set with many young and beautiful cast. "It was quite intimidating being on the set with so many young, beautiful people. That was quite extraordinary being the old, ugly one amongst loads of young, beautiful ones. It's not something I'm used to really," he says.

"Not because I'm young and beautiful but usually there's loads of old, ugly people around me," he furthermore adds, before noting that both of the leading actors, and , are fully committed. "It was quite encouraging to see how Robert and Kristen are committed to it, how much they put into it and how serious they are about it. They don't take it lightly at all so that was great to see."

"The Twilight Saga's New Moon" centers on the personal conflict Bella experiences following Edward Cullen's abrupt departure. Having "" helmer Chris Weitz as the director, the romantic drama is the sequel to 2008 hit movie "". Michael Sheen is among the new additions to the cast that include , and . It is aiming for a U.S. release on November 20.
