Finishing second at "American Idol" finale after losing the competition to fellow contestant Kris Allen, Adam Lambert stays positive. "First or second, it doesn't matter to me; I got to sing with two great heroic rock bands," he told OK! Magazine in the wake of winner announcement on Wednesday, May 20. "I felt so good. I got to sing with Queen and KISS!"
The 27-year-old guy, furthermore, admitted he wasn't surprised with the result. "I knew it was going to be a close race," he claimed. "I think Kris is incredibly talented and he's a good person, so to me it was like, we know it's going to be close; whatever happens, happens. We've made it this far, got to do a really cool finale and we're both going to get to do great things now in the future."
He then continued, "For me, it's not really about what happens tonight. It's about tomorrow. It's about next", adding, "I know that we're going to start working on some music right away, and that's what I can't wait to do - to collaborate, to write, to co-write and create visuals that go along with the music, too. I think that's going to be really exciting."
Kris Allen himself accepted the honor as winner of "American Idol" eight season with a humble heart. On-stage after hearing his name called as the new champion, he said, "It feels good, man, but Adam deserves this ... I'm sorry. I don't even know what to feel right now. This is crazy. Thank you so much." After that he cried on his wife Katy Allen's shoulder.

Adam, a lot of people love you for who you are. It doesnt really matter if kris won because in so many many hearts, you are number one. Millions worldwide believe in the uniqueness of your talent and you will bring joy to all of them when you make your alnum.

To me, Adam won American Idol. I bought all of his songs and videos from ITunes. I haven't bought a single one from Kris Allen. Kris seems like a genuine nice guy..but Adam ROCKS!

Based on uniqueness n quality, I believe adam is so much better singer than kris. He deserves 2 win d idol. But I guess viewers love 2 see dis competition as a dream 2 b a star for anybody who watches it. Dats why kris represents a person who is so humble, an underdog, a nobody who is so overwhelmed wid all d extravaganza of d show n being a star in instant. He potrays dat being a star could happen 2 anybody. Maybe dis year people/viewers see dis show from dat angle. Adam, well he is not a star in making. He has d star quality from d start. Amazing voice, attitude, he has his own style. You are the star and the winner. The people who went out and voted for Kris, did not vote for the best singing, the best stage presence, and the real star. Kris would have disappeared without that vote, but you have the talent and carisma to make it big in spite of the vote. I think you know that soon you will be the biggest star in the business. You will sell the best singles and the best albums. There is no one out there even now who can hold a candle to you. Rock has a new future with you at the helm. Good luck. you know what sucks about being 2nd... you can't sing your swan song... before that, every single person eliminated had their "moment", a tribute to their journey.. but for 2nds like Adam, suddenly it was all about the winner.
