Michael Jackson's upcoming gigs at London's O2 Arena are teased through a video footage from the concerts' rehearsal session and the audition for his backing dancers.
A video footage showing dance rehearsal for Michael Jackson's forthcoming concerts in London has been found. Prior to providing a sneak peek at the rehearsal however, the video gives a look at an audition, which sought Michael's backing dancers for the concert, at Los Angeles' NOKIA Theater on April 13.
Furthermore, a commentary from director/producer Kenny Ortega, choreographer/associate director Travis Payne, and assistant choreographer Stacy Walker about the audition is also included in it. "The idea [of the audition] is to get the big fish from all over the world in the same pot," Travis said, adding that at the end, only the best will be chosen.
Kenny, meanwhile, commented on those gathering in Los Angeles for the audition. He stated, "These are artists whose talent, dedication, skill and passion for performing with their idol is felt every hour of every day spent rehearsing. What is going to take place on that stage at the O2 arena in July will truly be inspiring."
Michael Jackson's live concerts in London are titled "This Is It" and will be held at O2 Arena. It is planned to be kicked off on Thursday, July 30, 2009 and will be wrapped up on February 24, 2010. More information about his upcoming shows can be checked on his official website.
Beside recruiting the helmer of "High School Musical" series, Kenny Ortega, as the director for the concert, Michael has also billed illusionist Ed Alonzo who previously worked with Britney Spears for her "Circus" tour. "I met with Michael Jackson a couple of days ago and am now officially creating magic and illusions for his concert," Alonzo said. "I will not be performing in the show as I do with Britney. I'm just creating the magic that Michael has requested in his vision...[He] has a great knowledge of magic and has performed illusions in his shows before."
