Shane Acker's '9' Gets Second Trailer
Movie

Take a better look into Shane Acker's animated movie about a group of sapient rag dolls battling for survival through its newly-released trailer.

AceShowbiz - G4's Attack of the Show has premiered the brand new trailer of computer animated "9". While the previous trailer presented only the voice of the dolls' creator in the background, this latest promotional video provides glimpses into the dolls' moment of creation itself, telling that "In the final days of humanity, a scientist gave his nine creations the spark of life".

This trailer explains more about the storyline, giving clues on why they are created. The footage teases how Elijah Wood-voiced 9 meets the other sapient rag dolls. It also displays his encounter with the dangerous machine creatures and the dolls' battle to save the future. The trailer, in addition, takes a closer look at each of the nine rag dolls.

A feature-length adaptation of Shane Acker's short film of the same name, "9" follows a sapient rag doll who finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world. Discovering a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction, he convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place. As they'll soon come to learn, the very future of civilization may depend on them.

The animation feature film features the voices of Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau and Crispin Glover. Set to debut in U.S. theaters on September 9, it is directed by Shane Acker, who also serves as the film's co-scribbler, and produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov.
