Previously only a whisper, the news about Lauren Conrad being replaced by "Laguna Beach" rival, Kristin Cavallari, turns out to be true. After the 5th season of "The Hills" which is airing on MTV now, Conrad officially signs off as the leading cast and that's when Cavallari steps in.
To EW, Cavallari confirmed that she is going to take over the spotlight starting the 5th season finale that airs May 31. Her first appearance will be on the wedding of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt where she got a hold of the bouquet thrown by Heidi. Two things that the 22-year-old emphasized are the fact that it's merely a TV show and that she is way "more" than Lauren Conrad.
"Its a TV show," Cavallari said. "I'm not going into it like, 'I'm going to make great friendships with these people.' It's work! And drama sells. I think that's why they're bringing me in, because I know what works."
Regarding her old rift with Conrad and whether or not she can live up the show, Cavallari commented "I'm a completely different person than Lauren. I have a lot more energy. I'm more outgoing. I'm a little more spontaneous."
She also admitted to having no clue whether a hook up with Justin Bobby will be possible in "The Hills" or not. She said, "I have no idea...but they might try and set up situations. I'm totally cool with that. Again, it's a TV show and they need to make it entertaining."

The Hills will never be the same. Kristin is a drama queen and total trash. Lauren has way more class than her.

Ok so the hills is truly my fav. Show on the on tv. I look at lauren as a classy high class rolemodel. Lauren you are going to be so missed !! I love you and look up to .. I've watched laguna from fay one and has always made it a priority that I can't miss any of ur shows ! Ur sweet and mature and I lve learned a lot from u and ur situations. Ur such an inspiration and ur dwn rite REAL!! And even though I'm sad ur leaving , I'm glad that u have decided to move on to bigger and better things ! Good luck and ull be missed terribly !! Plus I do remember on one of Kristin interviews reagarding the hills she completely talked trash about the show cuz Lauren got her spin off and she said she was "done with reality tv and wanted to focus on an acting career" What happened to that Loser Kristin!!!!

lauren was perfect for the show. everywhere kristin goes she just has to create drama (showing what she did on laguana). dont get me wrong i loved that show, but she just isnt right for the hills. Lauren was classy, and all kristin wants to do is cause more drama. blahhh hills

I'm not a fan of Kristen at all. Although she is the perfect candidate for drama, I think it is sad that she is excited to be apart of the show as a drama queen. For the most part, there is some truth to the show, and that's why I think Lauren ultimately decided to leave. She was sick of the drama, lies, deception, and manipulation. Kristen, sadly, is excited to not only be a part of this....but be the main source of it. Yes, drama creates for a good show, but the great thing about Lauren is she brought integrity and honesty to the show. More girls look up to her than Kristen any day.
she is proof that people will do ANYTHING for a little fame. the hills couldn't possibly last much longer, as its becoming more and more fake and the drama is forced, this is NOT reality, its a joke. its forced drama, and that is not reality. kristin is going to stir up drama on purpose even though she is all friends with these people. lies lies and more lies. lauren was sick of living a lie and a false life, thats why she choose to leave, she is REAL and couldn't deal with reacting over fake story lines.
i dont tink cavallari is a good role model shes just a poor little girl who wants attention because after all shes doing shes not getting it .... she failed on the las 2 proyects and now this is her last change...and at the end she doenst know what else to do ....
Yay, I'll finally watch the Hills now. I love Kristin! I liked Lauren too, but she is kind of dull.
