In the edition to present the world's talents, 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' welcomed Susan Boyle who has been going through dramatic changes in her life since 'Britain's Got Talent' audition.

AceShowbiz - Susan Boyle, the overnight singing sensation from Scotland, appeared before Oprah Winfrey via satellite from her home on Monday, May 11. Among the questions asked by the host are how she's feeling being famous and whether or not she's really getting a makeover.

Regarding her fame after the audition of "Britain's Got Talent", Susan said "It all takes a bit of time to take in. I mean, these things have happened so quickly. It's pretty awesome." She added, "I think change is always very hard to come by at first, but I'm really enjoying it, enjoying every second of it. It's like a dream come true."

Meanwhile, asked whether or not she had a makeover, the 47-year-old answered, "Depends what you mean by a makeover. I mean, my best friend actually helps me with my makeup. You know, I mean, that's hardly a makeover."

Oprah then went on asking about the hair color change and the new haircut. Susan, ruffling her hair, admitted, "I did a bit, yeah I did a bit. But that was just to tidy myself up, like any other female would have done."

Susan's audition piece "I Dreamed a Dream" received over a million hits on YouTube in mid April. She literally claimed her fame before the show even starts the semifinal rounds. "Well, I hope I have the chance, but at the same time, there's a lot of other talent in the competition, so I'm willing to take my place with them," Susan said on her chance of winning. "There's a lot of good talent on the show."

Oprah also dug a bit on Susan's history, asking about her childhood. "I was kind of a slow learner at school, so getting something like singing was a good way of hiding behind that and so boosting my confidence," Susan recalled. "I sang at karaokes, which most people do for fun. And I did sing at one or two occasions within the family."

But when her mother died in 2007, she pressed the brake. "After that, there was a wee period where I didn't sing," she continued. The audition was apparently a form of coming into terms with the loss. "You try and keep going through that pain, and that's what I tried to do with my singing. I am very slowly getting over it," she added. "One of the reasons I applied for the TV show was to try to see if I could perform in front of an audience."

Also present on the special episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" was the judge who got to hear Susan's voice first hand, Simon Cowell. The British personality gave a shout out to Susan, saying "You've got practically the whole world behind you now. So I want to say congratulations and wish you the best of luck."
