"No Surprise", a brand new song from DAUGHTRY, has just been unveiled. Co-penned by Chris and Nickelback's singer Chad Kroeger, the track will serve as the first single from the rock band's upcoming second studio album. It will be performed live on-stage for the first time in forthcoming result show of "American Idol" on May 6.
"It's no surprise I won't be here tomorrow," so read part of the track's lyrics sung by vocalist Chris Daughtry. "I can't believe that I stayed till today/Yeah you and I will be a tough act to follow/But I know in time we'll find this was no surprise." The complete lyrics can be found on the band's official website.
DAUGHTRY eye to drop the follow up to their 2006 eponymous debut album "DAUGHTRY" across United States on July 14. They promise to bring in "more gritty sounds" in the not-yet-titled effort, which is recorded in Los Angeles.

It is a surprise to me that I am even seeking Chris Daughtry out. I was not a fan when he was on Idol, but I was wrong about him. I love his first cd and saw him perform with the Idols. He was a true showman and appeared to reach the audience and completely humble. Basically, I just love the music and the voice. Lyrics easy to understand and I loved "No Surprise" the first time I heard it. Proud to admit I was in the wrong.
Whoa, the same Eric Dill who sang Just the Girl?!?!? Awesome!
Eric Dill and Rune Westberg are also writers of this song.
