It was a surprising line up of the bottom three this week in "American Idol". Many have predicted that either Matt Giraud or Allison Iraheta will be the least voted but they only got one right. Matt was in the bottom three along with Kris Allen and surprisingly, fan and judges favorite, Adam Lambert.
Ryan Seacrest announced that there were 47 million votes cast on the Rat Pack night. Then later he started dividing the top 5 into two groups. Matt was grouped with Kris and Adam on right side of the stage while Allison and Danny Gokey stood on the left side. The host then announced that Matt's group belonged to the bottom three.
Kris was first to be declared safe, leaving Adam and Matt for the climax toward the end of the show. Seacrest finally said that Matt, who was saved by judges two weeks prior, is not in the top 4.
The result night on Wednesday, April 29 invited several guest performers including Jamie Foxx that became the mentor of the week. Others were Natalie Cole and former "Idol" champion Taylor Hicks.

well, adam stuck again tonight. stop looking into the camera and lip syncing thank you to the judges. pathetic.
I have watched AI since season 2 and there have been some strange things. I am a mother of 5 all in college and am an Adam fan. I do not care about his sexual preferences. Obviously his parents, family and friends love him and that is what counts. He is indeed an amazing talent and I have already downloaded many of his tunes. You say he is predictable; well I feel he changes weekly! You say he is not growing; well he is and if he was a true entertainer in the beginning then he is just showing he is an even better entertainer. I indeed want him to win and will not watch the show if he doesn't anymore but win or loose he will be the winner because he will be as famous as Carrie or other superstars and so will the public for the talent of his gifts.
i cant belive adam was in the buttom 3.he is the best voice . i dont understand the people who voted the others..i am going to buy his cd's because all his songs is so beautiful...pls give your votes for ADAM........
Ryan Seacrest needs to go or at least stop acting like a jerk who asks very weird questions and makes comments that a strange! The way he handled Adam Lambert last week just proves how arrogant Seacrest can be! Is this just Seacrest or AI telling him what to say? What some see as arrogance in Adam is really just confidence! He believes in his talents and we should too. Dummy up, Seacrest!
rry to say this but it's true. Adam was definetely in the bottom 2. Votes were not good enough for him this week. Many of his fans had admited they splitted their votes others thought he was safe and voted for the one they didnt wanted to go, for sympathy. This mistake nearly cost Adam his place in AI. A mistake it has to be rectified so fans and America from now on no more sympathy votes or you could lose the real talented guy, the one who deserves to win. Adam Lambert is the winner no doubt about it so vote for him!!!
I really suspect the voting was RIGGED in order to get higher ratings. I taped the show and voted later that night; when I called in for the other contestants, I had no problem calling in, however, when I tried to vote for Adam, BOTH numbers were BUSY for about half an hour, which indicates to me that he had FLOODED the phone lines. I couldn't vote because I just didn't have two hours to sit on the phone...the whole thing seems fishy to me. Adam is brilliant and deserves to WIN!
Both Seacreast and Adam are secret lovers...both need to go. ADAM....STOP looking at the damn camera all the time. BTW, it's not confidence, it's being vein. Adam biggest fan is Adam, plain and simple.

You know what's too funny. Simon tells the others to have more stage presence...move around, interact with the audience. Then how come when Adam just stands or sits in one place and sings under a spot light the judges think it's increadable? NOT SO MUCH JUDGES. That's why Adam is in the bottom 3!! What is up with looking into the camera all the time? The judges heads are so far up....he is irrogant and cocky. Glad to see him at the bottom 2. Try playing back the part when he was told he is in the bottom 3. His face was priceless!! Irrogant to think he "belonged" in the group with Danny. Just goes to show you he is cocky and irrogant. Who needs another star like that in Hollywood. Bout time we get some good old fashioned NORMAL and THANKFUL people in Hollywood.

i agree, Adam is very predictable and his songs all sound alike. What's with always looking at the camera? And the silent lipping "THANK YOU" to the judges?! What a kiss arse! Go back to the theatrical stage....where the freaks are.
SOUR MILK YELL that is. All if his songs have the sour milk trademark! It's getting old (like sour milk)...if he is such an artist...then mix it up...all his songs start to sound the same and are VERY predictable. All milk has an expiration date...just like Adam.
Does Adam need to 'scream' his sour milk tune every freaking song he sings? Come on! He is a good singer, but when he screams out his sour milk yell...it just ruins the song. NOT every song needs the sour mild yell! GO DANNY!

NO WAY! Ugh. It ruined my entire friggin day, I seriously thought Matt and Alisson (spelling wrong?) would be the bottom 2, So I started wondering who would be the other one, since Kris, Danny, and Adam had never been in the bottom 3. NO WAY IN MY LIFE I expected that Adam would be the one (and kris). UGH! And Ryan or whoever set you up to ask that question, that was totally NOT cool. If this was a "fake" result... , There's no right rude word for all of this. I wish I lived in the states! I had never watched Idol so consistently before,but the moment I saw Adam audition at San Fransisco and sing a queen song, AND heard that he was in the cast of wicked.I totally fell in love with his talent, his voice and the way he can emotionally connect with alot of songs. I HEARD ON MY LOCAL RADIO STATION (KWIN 99.7) THAT SOMETHING HAPPENED WITH ITUNES WHERE ACCIDENTALLY SOMETHING WAS LEAKED ... SHOWING ADAM & KRIS WERE THE FINALISTS. IF ADAM IS ON THE BOTTOM AGAIN - I WILL CREATE A NATION WIDE RIOT/STRIKE.
It took David Cook to get me to even consider watching Idol again. They lost a lot of viewers many seasons ago and have been trying to "change things up" to get those viewers back. I came into this season a Danny fan, but was quickly converted to Adam. He is the superior talent without question. The problem with Idol is, they usually get it wrong. If Idol was not rigged for ratings because it was SO OBVIOUS since the top ten started that Adam would win, then this means HIS (Adam's) fans got lazy and weren't voting like they should because he was such a clear front winner. I think they need to change the voting anyway. It should be more like Dancing with the Stars. Half the votes come from the viewers and half the judges. You would have more consistency in the winners. Last but not least the "save" they used on Matt was ridiculous. Going into the finals is when a saved should be used. Simon ALWAYS gets it right and he clearly stated Matt could not win so why save him. This was the first time I (and many of my over 40 girlfriends) actually considered going to an Americal Idol tour to see this young man (Adam) Look up the Los Angeles times article on his mid range voice, the transition from chest to head resonation and read how many people in the world now or EVER have that kind of talent, range, and transition. Then you will realize what you are seeing in this extraordinary young man. He doesn't really need Idol now, but it would be nice if IDOL could finally take credit for someone like him.
If they rigged the votes I don't think they would have told Allison or any contestant before the show. It would make a much better show if the contestants seemed as shocked as the viewers.
Adam - who would've known? I'm guessing he got the 3rd highest amount of votes last night. Not that surprising that Danny beat Adam this week. But Allison? I'm so happy for her. She was easily my favorite of the night & I felt the most connected with her song. Her best performance yet, I love her softer, sadder (non angry) side. With Lil & Anoop gone a significant chunk of their fans must have latched onto her as their 2nd favorite. I thought she'd benefit from Lil going, I wasn't sure about Anoop's fans. Kris is my favorite & he did well (doesn't everyone at this stage in the competition?) but too boring & didn't stand out. Allison deserved to beat him last night. Adam, Adam. This was my least favorite performance by him. Too staged, with the red carpet & white suit, I couldn't connect with the song or with Adam [it didn't help that they hardly ever did close ups of his face]. I did love his last note though, that was incredible. It felt like we'd seen what Adam showed us last night several times before from him, & simply, done much better. Adam is still 'the one'. He was my early favorite & I really hope he wins over Danny. On the other hand I wouldn't put it past them to meddle with the votes (because this season is - unfortunately for Idol addicts - Idols lowest viewer rate so far). Kris, looking forward to what you'll bring next week!! I'm holding out hope for a Kris-Adam finale (if only). How come Danny has so many fans? I don't like his style & loud voice, I want to see him go next week (if only). I thought for sure that Kris would make it into the top 3 because he has never been in the bottom (until now!) while Allison has been in the bottom 3 times, and Matt 2 times. Now suddenly, Allison has greatly increased her fan base.

I'm actually glad. I love Adam but now the show is more fun to watch since maybe someone else could possibly beat Adam. Although, he is way above the other singers.

The producers are messing with the votes for thrill factor. Adam is number 1! Allison should have been in bottom 3, but they were not honest with the votes to – shake things up a bit. Next week, will probably be their biggest vote and ratings. That’s what they do in that industry. Here’s the thing, I have never blogged or taken part in any internet discussions because I am too busy. I am a 44 year old mother and work FT. I’ve seen it all and been thru it all and know talent. My husband is a musician. We are in AWE of Adam Lambert. I’ve never believed in all the fuss and show of being “a fan”. Some people are awesomely talented, but we are all special in our own way. I’ve never even written fan mail. But I would for Adam! This man is amazing. I’ve been waiting for new talent like him since the greats like Led Zep, Doors, Aerosmith, Police, Stones, Rush, Clapton, Lenny Kravitz, Annie Lenox; and I’ve enjoyed (felt relief) in some of the newer talents in last decade like Maroon 5, Beck, Cold Play, Alicia Keys, Carrie Underwood, and the ever quiet Maxwell (we need more from you). I will vote for Adam next week. I’ve never voted on Idol before, but I will to save my guy. I’m sure he’s intelligent enough this week to balance any overconfidence he may have had (didn’t seem like it, doom of any entertainer), and choose the right Rock song (what the heck will that be?!). He’ll come thru to the end. He is the most talented person ever on Idol. I cannot wait for his first CD. Everyone loving this guy needs to vote and support him! I also WILL NEVER watch Idol again if he does not win. Quit messing with us Idol! Just crown King Lambert and let it be done. Let us enjoy this guy no matter what his personal choices to the fullest extent for the next 50 years!
Could this sudden surge in votes from 33 million to 53 million be the result of Bill O'Reilly's letting his conservative listeners know that a "gay" might be an American Idol? Where did these new votes come from?
It was totally bogus, a ploy by AI to keep everyone tuned in the entire hour, watching the commercials. I think it was staged and that some were warned ahead of time so that they would be prepared (possibly even Adam).
If Adam had gone home, I really would like to hope that the whole building would erupt and there would be a crazy riot. And the judges would get up and walk away. I would. I would. And by the way everyone, if the votes WERE rigged, as few people would be told as possible. Definatly not the contestants, definatly not the judges, and probably not even Ryan.
Okay, this is what it boils down to...Adam is way and beyond!!! A talented ARTIST that no one could have ever imagined....way above perfection and versatility... who was to think that a human with so much GOD GIVEN talent would exist in out day and age...WINNER?,,, is an understatement...the only thing that would positively come out of him not winning would be the % of $$$ less given to whom not for merit... he deserves it all, and I mean ALL for for HIS own unique talent and persistance. I think everyone thought Adam was safe and voted for other contestants to keep them from being eliminated. Goes to show... EVERY vote counts. Plus, two very conservative singers were eliminated last week and you don't know who they decided to vote for. Maybe not Adam?
Iknow it was rigged because Paula loves Adam and she was not upset at all that he was in the bottom 2. They did it on purpose just to get us Adam fans in a roar. There is now way in hell he would have been in the bottom 3 and really not in the bottom 2. It was all a set up because Paula would have been absoulty out of her mind and she was calm as ever. Adam is so much better than everyone else in the competiton they had to do something to make the other contestants look a little better. Adam Rocks and always will.

With only 5 left, it was evident that not everyone luvs Adam. I was glad to see him in the bottom 2. He is so full of himself as evidenced by the fact that he was so sure he was in the top 3. He is another Taylor Hicks. He's got a great voice but I can't stand his strutting and screeching.

I predicted from the beginning that Adam would go all the way because he is SO different. But, different only goes so far before it becomes the same. He's been the same over and over and it's costed him. AI needs artists with diversity. I LOVE Danny Gokey, but if I were to pick it would be Adam and Allison and Adam would win by popularity, not talent.

Adam in the bottom 2! I couldn't believe it, but Ryan did say that Matt and Adam had the fewest number of votes. Anything is possible in regards to the network playing with the votes. All I know is that I will continue to vote for Adam (alot). He is a vocal angel, and deserves to win AI. Regardless I will be a Adam fan for life and can't wait to see how he presents his art.

It is impossible to believe that the strongest performer AND singer ended up in the bottom 3. Either all of us did not vote (thinking he was safe) or someone tampered with the results. Yes, it probably will increase their ratings. But even the one new judge was stunned. The others are all probably in on the deal.

Adam Lambert is definitely the best. I just find it so odd that Allison was repeatedly in the bottom 3 but now Adam Lambert is? AI has been known to be a bit shady. I'm going to re watch it, because Allison didn't seem genuinely surprised about Adam Lambert being in the bottom 3, all I can say is they probably wanted the show to be more interesting, and before the show told Allison they were going to place Adam in the bottom 3 instead of her. Or maybe I'm just blaming AI and the best ever AI contestant was actually in the bottom 3! :(

I liked Adam in the beginning, but he's a little too freaky for me. He does have a beautiful voice, but so have lots of others who have gone home.
