Pink Won't Set 'Circus' Tour If She Knew Britney Spears Also Uses It

'Had I known that certain other people were going to base their latest thing about circus things, I probably would have went into another direction,' Pink says of her tour's theme, 'Circus'.

Pink recently revealed she would not use "Circus" theme for her tour should she know that fellow singer Britney Spears also had the same idea. "Had I known that certain other people were going to base their latest thing about circus things, I probably would have went into another direction," so she said.

"I was six months before that," Pink continued with further explanation, recalling the time she came up with the concept. "And didn't really understand that it was a trend that was happening. I'm pretty out of the loop."

Pink based the "Circus" theme of her tour on her latest album "Funhouse", which came out in October 2008. Britney Spears also pulled out the concept from her latest set "Circus", which arrived in store in December 2008.

Now that the tour is all set up, Pink promises to bring out something different than what concertgoers have seen during Britney's roadshow. While Britney's gigs mostly deal with lip-synced performance and dance-oriented show, Pink's concerts will be a "gritty, emotional rock 'n' roll" live appearance.

Commenting on her choice of bringing "Circus" theme into the effort, Pink said she jumped into such idea because "[Circus is] full of what mainstream society considers freakish and the outcasts." She also claimed the theme as "kind of sexy and exciting and big and over the top."

Pink will start touring across America on September 15 at WAMU Theatre in Seattle, Washington. As for Britney, she has kicked off her U.S. roadshow at New Orleans Arena on March 3. Pink's complete tour dates can be found on her official website, while more info about Britney's on-going roadshow can be obtained on her MySpace.

Your mind is twisted. Pink can and has recorded the music she wants. Do you think her record company was thrilled with Dear Mr. President and Stupid Girls etc in Im not Dead, and the theme of the whole Funhouse Album about her breakups?. Arent these proof enough that she isnt just another Lady Gaga, Katy Perry etc type of artists, that will rule the chart for a short period and a few years from now we probably won't even remember them. As for her change in styles, the legend Tina Turner started at R&B and then become a Rock n Roll Queen. She found that she liked Rock music more when performing on stage. So what is sooo wrong with Pink changing styles?. So what if she started at Rnb.Changing music styles is not an identity issues. It means finding your calling, your truth, which she did. When did Pink ever say that she wasnt able to record what she loves? YOu perhaps misinterpreted what she said. Her first album, she was still new to the business and altho she still co-wrote 8 or 9 songs on her first album..she was just unimpressed by the lack of personal touch and camradie of the whole production team, everything seems business-like, which she didnt like. Other than that, she defn had a hand in more than half of the songs and her image like her hair, attitude etc were all hers. From the 2nd album she co-wrote 90% of the songs, third, fourth and fifth albums, she co -wrote 100% of the songs and she was also Executive Producer. After all these years, the attitude is still there, truthful honest lyris, still there, only her hair color changes. Thats it.

Having just attended the first of her world tour in Perth, Western Australia I can assure you all that the show is unbelievable, its raw and sexy, even though it has stuck to a little bit of a circu stheme it is done in a way that Pink seems to have made her own. If you haven't got tickets yet..get out and get some...you won't regret it

its hardly pink's fault. her album came out first and she already finished rehearsals for her tour when Britney album came out. Jive made her tour Europe first although she was red hot in the U.S after So What went #1. They were prob afraid that touring the same time as Britney Spears in the U.S would mean Pink would get all the great reviews and Britney the bad reviews(which she is getting anyways)..the even let people think that Britney was the first who came up with the Circus theme tour..between her and Pink ..LMAO> Pink was already in Europe by then with her first concert in Feb08, and Britney started hers in March 08 in the U>S. She has control over her music but not her tours, the record company have to put up about half of the money and they have a say in where she tours. Saying she is not touring the U.S proper as if its her fault is unfair to her. She wants to tour the U.S for a long long time. Blame her record company.

Pink! has identity issues? she was hip-hop artist- r&b, punk rocker and dance diva all in a few short years before leaving Atlanta. That's alotta personalities and genre coverage for a hardcore thing, no? Whats odd, is she really an artist(?) An artist creates original material-- by definition and legal standards- Pink has admitted in public, that she doesn't record what she loves and other people write it-- so to say she's a corporate controlled puppet with a new wave haircut-- told what to do and how to help Jive collect a royalty payment? Or is she just dance Diva-hip-hop honey and a Joplin wanna be? So Whats Up, punkie?

the comment is a publicity stunt- to get her on the tag with Brittney, they are on the same label-labels share the same creative directors. Pink is also full of shit- poor girl can't record the music she writes and likes, although she is a good actress after complaining on how her label forces her to sing synthetic music, it seems so true and real- when she wants to be Janis Joplin. Its smoke and mirrors with the control crowd, sales and scams- butchya Jive whiff it- day make sound goooooooooooood. Has anybody heard Pink talk about "I'm Not Dead" she re-recorded and they cut bite after byte- so to write, the original material wasn't good enough. That means what?

It's not her fault it's stinking Jive Records' fault, their so cheap they have to market Pink, Britney annnnnd T-Pain albums with the CIRCUS THEME!! If I was Pink I would sue the label they should have let her know ahead of time that two of her label mates were also doing Circus themes!
