Jill Scott is now a first time mother as she has given birth to a baby boy on Monday, April 20. The infant was delivered at 4:20 P.M. and weighed in at 7 lbs., 8 oz. at time of birth. Jill and her drummer fiance Lil' John Roberts name their newborn son Jett Hamilton Roberts.

Jill Scott, who is an R 'n' B singer and TV actress, discovered she was pregnant with Lil' John Roberts' baby shortly before she left for Botswana to film her HBO's series "The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency". In early January 2009, she told the Television Critics Association conference in Los Angeles, "The first trimester I spent in Botswana. That was one of the biggest challenges of my life. First trimester! You're sick every morning. It was seven hours time difference, the heat, the bugs, the 14 hour days."
However, Jill was quick to confirm, "My doctors gave me a clean bill of health and said you can do this, so I did it." She initially was scheduled to give birth this Saturday, April 25.
