Following his deal with Universal Motown, the home of Lil Wayne and Akon, Kid Cudi will release his debut album 'Man on the Moon: The Guardians' under Dream On/G.O.O.D. Music/Universal Motown.

AceShowbiz - Kid Cudi has inked a deal with Universal Motown, the recording company announces. "I am thrilled to welcome Kid Cudi into the Universal Motown family," so the label's President Sylvia Rhone comments on the addition of the rapper to her company.

"Kid Cudi is at the vanguard of a game - changing new generation of artists," Sylvia continues praising her newly-signed artist. "He crosses musical boundaries with an appeal that goes beyond genre, format, race, language, and culture. Cudi lives easily in the hip-hop, indie rock, pop, and R&B worlds - a diversity that shows in his innovative music and his all-embracing persona."

"He is a born storyteller who brings a positive, life-affirming message to his brilliant lyrical flow and compelling music. There are no cliches in what Cudi does. He is a breath of fresh air - a dynamic and important new voice, not only in the next phase of hip-hop, but as a groundbreaking trendsetter who represents the future."

Furthermore, Cudi's mentor Kanye West also has nothing but positive words for him. The founder of G.O.O.D. Music says, "Cudi is a combination of constant inspiration, struggle, reality and dreams put to melody!"

Responding to the newly-formed relationship between Cudi and Universal Motown, Emile and Plain Pat, his partners in his own label Dream On which will be launched later this year, note that "partnering Kid Cudi with Universal Motown and Sylvia Rhone couldn't be a more natural fit." They add, "They were the first major company to take notice of our movement and truly grasp our vision. We are thrilled to extend and deepen our relationship. It's a great feeling to watch the world discover the talent we saw in Cudi over these past years."

Now that he has joined Universal Motown, which becomes the home for such big stars as Akon, Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes among others, Kid Cudi is set to bring out his debut album "Man on the Moon: The Guardians" this summer under Dream On in conjunction with G.O.O.D. Music/Universal Motown. "Day 'N' Nite", his single from the upcoming album has been released since January and has peaked at number 7 on Billboard Hot 100.
