Amy Winehouse to Debut New Songs in May

Amy Winehouse will be showcasing new songs from her still-in-the-works album during 'Island Records 50 Year celebrations' at the end of this May.

has just confirmed on her official website that she will preview new materials from her upcoming album next month. She will showcase the new tracks during "Island Records 50 Year celebrations" to be held at the Shepherds Bush Empire on May 31.

"I hope to play some new songs," Amy says. "I'm busy in the studio at the minute, too busy to go out and have much fun really. I can't even play pool in my favourite pool hall. It's probably for the best though It's probably for the best. I only end up getting arrested for assault when I go out these days."

Prior to her performance at the party, Amy will be seen performing at the 18th Annual Saint Lucia Jazz Festival on May 8. During the event, slated to run from May 2 - 10, she will be joined by other A-list headliners, including , , and among others.

In another news related to Amy Winehouse, the R&B/soul singer has "headed back to St Lucia for recording." During the session, she works with producer Salaam Remi, who helped her making debut album "" back in 2006.

Most recently, , who lent his voice in the remix version of Amy's single "Rehab", revealed his willingness to work with her again. At the time, he said, "Amy has a really powerful voice, it is so distinctive and beautiful. Hopefully in the future we could get together and work on some new material - I'd love to work with her again."
