One celebrity surely not getting slimed this year at the annual Kids Choice Awards is Robert Pattinson. Although his 2008 film "Twilight" has gained momentum for him this year, the British hunk reportedly is not attending the ceremony which will be held on Saturday, March 28 at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion.
Organizers told Los Angeles Times' The Dish Rag that the Cedric Diggory in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" will neither be present at the event nor tape a video appearance. He is reportedly busy filming the sequel to "Twilight", "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" in Vancouver, Canada. Pattinson is not in the nomination but the book of "Twilight" is nominated for Favorite Book.
Nevertheless, the awards show that honors the selection by young kids, will still be a star-studded affair. Jonas Brothers and The Pussycat Dolls have been confirmed to take the stage to perform while Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock will host. Also included in attendance list are Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, Megan Fox, Shia LaBeouf, Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Jackman, Leonardo DiCaprio and many others.

Why so defensive? He couldn't go, so he didn't. Not a big deal, it was just as fun without him. Would have been nice to see him, but them's the breaks. The event's about FUN, why are people talking like he's too good to go? I doubt he thinks that way.
kay, seriously, if he doesn't want to go, he doesn't have to, i think he has better things to do, then sit and listen to kids yell and scream. He has been really busy with stuff, like new moon, and aswell who is a good role model? think about it, i can't think of celeb that is. !!!!!
Robert can do no wrong with me either, he does not have to be in our face all the time to be cool. He is being hounded and chased all the time now, and I would be really upset about it too.
I feel bad for My Rob, he's not obligated to go if he didn't then so be it. There's other people who film the movie go send them, just let him rest. Relax. He's working. So be it.
Robert is only human. Why do we have to expect him everywhere. So he smokes and occasionally drinks, so he's a bad role model? Please. He has a lot on his plate from his everyday life and dealing with stardom. I believe him when he says he;s to busy but that doesn't make him less of a person. Many people don't like children and I respect him for his honesty! Maybe later in time when he is settling down, he might change his mind. I read the GQ article and was very pleased by a man who could be so honest. Kudos to you Rob and maybe we will see you around another gathering soon! Take Care!!!
This really disapoints me... I adore Rob Pattinson But I am a teacher and love kids. I have seen him say in an interview that he does not like children... I was hoping that what he said was taken out of context... Well to hear that he won't be attending the kids choice awards just confirms that he obviously does not like children... VERY disapointing...
Also; The man is british. We've seen that he loves to smoke, and drink, and go home with the ladies. Not really a good role model for the kids choice awards! But again; this is what you do when you're 22! Have fun while you can, Rob! :)
Most young men at 22 DON'T like kids. They are too self centered to care about the youngsters. Give him 10 years when he grows up; he might start to like them. The audience would just scream their heads off anyway and he just stands there, with his head down and messing with his hair, which of course, makes the screaming worse!
I agree with moms up top. Rob I understand filming a movie is very importate but being humble and showing praise to your loyal fans even by video would have been much appreciated. You lost some points with me and my mom thinks your a very good actor and that you really care about people. What a joke!

they are still showing his photo on the nickelodeon site they need to take that down and just leave Dwayne Johnson up there since he's the host. I wasn't watching it anyway and I think Rob needs a break he's been doing too much traveling...let him rest!
