'Saw VI' Starts Shooting Late March

The lensing of 'Saw VI' will be kicked off in Toronto, and this next installment of the horror thriller franchise will see the return of Shawnee Smith as Amanda Young.

AceShowbiz - Expected to be released in U.S. theaters on October 23, "Saw VI" has been reported to begin its principal photography on March 30 in Toronto, Canada. The possibility of the filming start date has been unraveled by Official Saw News when unveiling the confirmation of Shawnee Smith's return as Amanda Young in the sixth film.

Of Smith report, "Saw" producer Mark Burg said, "Shawnee Smith is in Saw VI." Burg also mentioned that several new characters will be introduced to the this latest installment of the horror thriller, which he described as being "a lot more violent than the previous five". He further gushed, "Lastly, we have traps that pit victims against each other like the opening of Saw V. Could be the best script yet!"

"Saw VI" will have Kevin Greutert as its director, taking over "Saw V" helmer David Hackl. Screenwriter duo Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton once again pen the script. Plot details are yet to be unraveled. Meanwhile, "Saw V" which was released on October 24, 2008 has pulled in $56.7 million from the North American screening and $113.1 million worldwide.
