Coincident with the announcement of the schedule changes for some Marvel's movies, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios unveil the release date for 'Spider-Man 4'.

AceShowbiz - It is official, "Spider-Man 4" will be blasting into theaters in 2011. Though busy shifting the release date of their three upcoming movies, "Thor", "The First Avenger: Captain America" and "The Avengers", Marvel Studios confirmed on March 12 that Sony Pictures have set the release date for this fourth installment of the web-slinging superhero movie.

Taking the vacant slot left by "Captain America", "Spider-Man 4" is to see U.S. theaters on May 6, 2011. With the 2011 slate placing, this Sam Raimi-directed movie has been put on the same year "Captain America" and "Thor" hit the U.S. theaters.

The fourth installment of "Spider-Man" series, "Spider-Man 4" has been reported to be shot back-to-back with "Spider-Man 5". It teams up once again director Sam Raimi and lead actor Tobey Maguire. While it is still uncertain whether Kirsten Dunst will reprise her role as Mary Jane Watson, actor J.K. Simmons has recently hinted on his return as obnoxious Daily Bugle publisher J. Jonah Jameson. Produced by Avi Arad, Grant Curtis and Laura Ziskin, the script will be provided by David Lindsay-Abaire.
