A brand new trailer of 'Star Trek' has been debuted at WonderCon 2009 panel, and it previewed the disaster scene which ultimately kills the father of Chris Pine's James Kirk.

AceShowbiz - Paramount Pictures have surprised "Star Trek" fans with a brand new trailer of the forthcoming sci-fi movie. The fast-paced trailer was shown during WonderCon 2009 panel on Saturday, February 28, with director J.J. Abrams assuring fans that they are making this movie for the fans, and the written description of the footage, which may contain some spoilers, has been shared.

The fresh trailer starts with a scene of Chris Pine's James Kirk riding a motorcycle through the desert environment of his hometown with a brief footage of bar fight. Then, it cuts to Bruce Greenwood's Captain Pike telling Kirk about how his father saved the lives of three hundred people on the ship with a brief glimpse of the actual disaster, and challenging him to do better and follow his father's footsteps.

The trailer furthermore moves on with a glimpse of Kirk in his early years at the Starfleet Academy when one of his instructors, Zachary Quinto's Spock, tells the class, "You will experience fear." Bits of clip, showing Kirk and Sulu freefall towards a Romulan drilling platform hovering over Vulcan and get into a fight with two guards, then are being displayed. Then, a shot of Vulcan being disintegrated takes over.

The trailer continues presenting Kirk as First Officer when he is told to take over for the captain and after saying "Hell yeah" as an answer, he takes a seat on the chair on the Enterprise bridge for the first time. At one point in the promo video, Eric Bana's Romulan leader Nero can be seen saying "James T. Kirk was a great man" and then ordering his Romulans to attack.

While this trailer will be premiered in theaters on Friday, March 6, attached to "Watchmen", "Star Trek" itself will be hitting U.S. theaters on May 8. The eleventh feature film of the famed sci-fi movie, resolving around Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members during their years at Starfleet Academy, stars Chris Pine, Eric Bana, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and many else.
