The good news that strikes "One Tree Hill" comes along with a bad news. Hot on the heels that the show is being renewed for a seventh season, there are rumors of two main cast leaving the show. It has remained a speculation however, until one of them speaks out in a video blog.
It sprang from OTHFans.com earlier this week that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton have not renewed their contracts for the seventh season. The site assures readers that the information is solid. Murray's exit from the show is still a big question mark but a light is shed on Burton's part. The actress who portrays Peyton Sawyer posts a video from her Wilmington, North Carolina-based production company's website.
She said, "I want to clear up one thing that's very important to me. I want everyone to know how much I love Peyton Sawyer, and my crew.... I don't want anyone to think I'm abandoning a place that's been very good to me."
She continued, "I've had a really good run, and I wish I had creative control over the show, and I don't. But if I did, it would go on for a million years, and Peyton Sawyer would cry for you all the time - because she does that." The video which also shows Burton's emotional state while speaking, can be watched here.
No representative from The CW has come out to address this issue.

I belive that peyton will not leave the show if she sees how many of her fans wanrt her to stay. i think she left becuz Chad Michael Murray was leaving and she didn't want to do the show without Chad being in the show.
It is gonna be very differint. But honestly the new and old faces will probarly be OTH's most successful series ratings and story wise. Hopefully they will return for a recurring or guest or return in season eight.
Hilarie makes one tree hill! please renew her contract =( she's an amazing actress and we all love peyton!

I have been a leyton fan since forever...I named my dog Leyton...please dont tell anyone thats the reason lol...with out Hilarie and Chad there is no One Tree Hill I absolutly love this show its the reason I cant wait for my weekend to end...wow im really painting a good picture of myself here. Honestly if Peyton and Lucas are not on for season 7 im going to pretend that season 6 season finale is the series finale :( this breaks my heart i cant believe we wasted an entire season of potential Leyton love on Lyndsay...well all good things have to come to an end ...Thank you Hilarie for giving us Peyton Sewyer for the past 6 seasons...and thank you Chad for making Lucas Scott the sexiest man on T.V ;)
i believe it was a rumor because i watched a video on the upcoming season 7 credits and chad and hilarie were in the credits so i believe there are just trying to trick people into thinking there leaving when there actually not!!!!! hey Hilarie it sucks that ur leaving the show!! i was so shocked to hear that u were leaving but i guess u have to do what u have to do. Peyton is my favorite character on the show and it hurts that ur not going to be on the show anymore!!! i loved your character in OTH its the reason why i started to love the show so much and get addicted to it. and i watched ur video and it made me cry it was so sad to hear u say that ur not coming back and to see how emotional you got about it.
