Thanking her family and friends for outpouring her with support post her divorce from Alex Young, Kate Walsh is determined to move forward.

AceShowbiz - "The silver lining to this, however, is that I have a wonderful family and a great group of friends who really showed their support and encouragement, and for that I am truly grateful," Kate Walsh tells the March issue of Redbook magazine about life after separating from estranged husband Alex Young. "Alex and I still care for each other, and I wish him nothing but the best," she claims.

Giving more details about her separation from the film executive after just 14 months of marriage, Kate openly reveals that she never thought her wedding would come to an end very quickly. "I don't think anyone gets married thinking that they will get divorced. We certainly did not," the TV actress says.

However, Kate feels glad that her friends don't judge her for divorcing so quickly. "I have gone through ups and down, and it's human nature for someone to judge and say, 'Here's what you need to do,'" she admits. "But the most truly useful thing to do is to shut up and listen and tell the person that you're there for them unequivocally."

Determined to move forward, Kate tells Redbook, "I have always been the girl who keeps on trying. I try! I try!", adding, "I am a quivering little wharf rat underneath who is radically insecure and deeply in need of love and understanding."

Kate Walsh, famous for her starring role as Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd in TV series "Grey's Anatomy", and Alex Young, a production co-president at 20th Century Fox, tied the knot on September 1, 2007. Their separation was covered by the media late last year. Alex was reported to be citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
