In a fresh and interesting scoop for "New Moon", it has been reported that Madonna is linked to the "Twilight" sequel. E! News has broken out that the Material Girl is most likely to be involved in the vampire drama saga by either showcasing her acting skills or singing for the soundtrack, stressing further that she is most likely to do both.
Further reports noted that the songstress, who has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, has made her move as she is reportedly in talks with the producers to get into the project. While it is unclear what character the 50-year-old is aiming for, her manager Guy Oseary who serves as "New Moon" executive producer allegedly is keen to get her on board.
Madonna is the latest star rumored to be cast for the adaptation of the "Twilight" series' second novel. Previously, young actresses from "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" star Vanessa Hudgens to "90210" beauty AnnaLynne McCord have been speculated to take on particular role in the film. While Hudgens' rumor was quick to be dismissed, McCord has recently confirmed that she is in negotiation to play Heidi.
"New Moon" follows Bella Swan as she deals with her personal conflicts following Edward Cullen's abrupt departure. The production of "New Moon" is scheduled to begin in mid-March in Vancouver followed with the filming in Italy in May. The Summit Entertainment vampire drama will see the return of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene, Taylor Lautner and other original stars. To be directed by Chris Weitz, it is scheduled for U.S. release on November 20.

Maybe she won't act! Maybe there will be a small bit of her doing a live show onstage if the folks in the movie decide to attend a Madonna concert,like part of a date. Just guessing! What else could possibly happen without her actually "acting"!
Madonna will probably have a freakig heart attak in the middle of the set leaving un filmed because of the"tradety"!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible! Ugh...keep with the smaller not huge name actors! Just like Vanessa Hudgens she could never play Leah, she will always be known as whoever she played in those teeny bobber High School musical movies. All of these big names they keep bringing up are making me a little nervous about New Moon and how it will turn out. And MADONNA?? Seriously???

Absolutely, positively NOT. This whole "get on board to cash in on the latest and greatest" is just horrible! That's all this is, Madonna wanting to latch her fast-fading self to what's "hot". Oh, I can see it now. Slinky, cone wearing Madonna, in black leather instead of a black wool cape being a Volturi and stepping up to Edward saying, "Are you HOT or WHAT???" Oy! Please, please, please don't let her anywhere near this series!!! Even musically! She's a HAS BEEN! She's terrible! NO WAY!!!!!!

Stephenie Meyer!! Where are you?? Put on your cape and fight this crime! If she lets this happen, Im not just speaking for myself when I say fans everywhere are going to be disappointed. We will always love her and the Twilight series... But our faith in their movie transition abilities will be further shaken... And we all know how well Twilight translated to screen in the first place. If Madonna crashes New Moon, all is lost! Vote NO on Madonna! Maybe if there was an evil aging witch killing everyone for their youth with a sinister plot twist, I could see it. But otherwise, undeniably wrong choice!!!

Yecch Madonna! She is so unappealing in trying to look like a 20 year old. The woman has so little dignity and grace.
It is so important to be true to the book. Madonna is exactly the opposite kind of star that they should attract. She just wants to appeal to younger people. They should look at the Harry Potter series and choose relatively unknown actors (as they have done) and mix them with very talented veteran actors (obviously not Madonna).
