'Idol' Champs Attend 'The American Idol Experience' Gala

A star-studded celebration that makes up a huge reunion of "American Idol" alumni was conducted at Walt Disney World on Thursday, February 12. All the competition's season winners such as David Cook, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, Fantasia Barrino, Ruben Studdard and Kelly Clarkson took time out to come first hand for the gala.

The event is dubbed "The American Idol Experience", a reference to the new attraction that Disney creates for its visitors. The theme park's newest addition allow people aged 14 and above to experience how it feels like being on the stage which is made as a replica of the one in Hollywood. One can audition, get voted by live audience and come back for a finale that night. The winner will get Dream Ticket that will allow him or her to skip being in line for future audition shows.

Also spotted in the crowd are the finalists of "American Idol" itself such as Jason Castro, Mandisa, LaKisha Jones, Phil Stacey, Carly Smithson, and Michael Johns. Host Ryan Seacrest also showed up alongside judge Paula Abdul. On the blue carpet are Disney's notable characters Mickey and Minnie Mouse as well as Goofy.

The grand opening was made merry with the performance of David Cook who sang his hit single "Light On". Finishing his set, he said "it gets better" before inviting Carrie Underwood on stage to do a duet with him on Fleetwood Mac's "Go You Own Way".
