New York Sees the Premiere of 'The International'

The Cinema Society and Angel has rolled down red carpet for the New York premiere of 'The International', welcoming celebs from Clive Owen and Naomi Watts to 'Gossip Girl' star Amanda Setton.

AceShowbiz - On Monday, February 9, a special screening for the upcoming espionage film, "The International", has been held at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City. The premiere event was attended by some of its cast members, including Clive Owen, Naomi Watts, Brian F. O'Byrne and Nilaja Sun.

Joining those stars on the red carpet was the thriller's director Tom Tykwer. Seen as well in the red carpet were many television stars, among them were "Gossip Girl" actress Amanda Setton, "Fringe" actress Jasika Nicole, "30 Rock" actress Katrina Bowden and "Law & Order" actress S. Epatha Merkerson. Beside the TV stars, R.E.M.'s lead vocalist Michael Stipe has also been spotted on the evening.

Based on an original screenplay written by Eric Singer, "The International" revolves around Interpol Agent Louis Salinger and Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Eleanor Whitman as they put their lives at stakes while trying to uncover the money laundering and illegal arms trading done by one of the world's most powerful banks. While the thriller has opened the 59th Berlin International Film Festival on February 5, Columbia Pictures will distribute this movie to U.S. theaters on February 13.
