Sci Fi Wire has got its hands on three new preview images of "Mutant Chronicles". One of the pictures brings forth a closer look to Ron Perlman's character named Brother Samuel. The two others, on the other hand, display some of the scenes to be seen in the film.
"Mutant Chronicles" is set in the year 2707 when Earth is no longer recognizable. A war is raging between four giant corporations who control the planet, but when an errant shell destroys an ancient stone seal, mankind find themselves facing hideous necromutants with boneblades that grow from their arms. The mutants multiply by millions and they destroy all before them.
As the mutant scourge threatens human extinction, Corporations' leader Constantine decides to abandon the planet and leaves countless innocents to their desperate fate. But, Brother Samuel, a keeper of the Chronicles, a book that prophesies both the rise of the Mutants and the 'Deliverer' that will destroy them, recruits a band of soldiers led by a 23rd century soldier Major Mitch Hunter in a battle against an army of the underworld.
Directed by Simon Hunter, it features the likes of Thomas Jane as Major Mitch Hunter, Ron Perlman as Brother Samuel, John Malkovich as Constantine and Devon Aoki as Valerie Duval among others. Magnet Releasing will release this sci-fi action film in limited U.S. theaters on April 24.
