"Wall-E" won't be getting a sequel treatment, insisted the animated movie's writer/director Andrew Stanton. Sharing out what he has in mind of the sequel issue, the 43-year-old filmmaker tells MTV News, "Personally, I never consider sequels. I think that takes a lot of hubris to think that your idea is going to live on and on, and I always love the idea of something just being contained and done."
Explaining the reason behind why he is not going to make the sequel for the robot romance film, Stanton points out on the working process of "Wall-E", "We work on these things for so long, that we have a hard time simply thinking that the [first] film is ever going to be done." The director of "Finding Nemo" further adds, "I'm not against sequels, and I've certainly experienced personally and seen secondhand great sequels, but I don't go in with that intent."
A 2008 computer-animated sci-fi/romance film from Pixar, "Wall-E" has become the studio's ninth consecutive movie to land #1 at the box office upon its release on June 26. Having collected so far $532.9 million worldwide, the animated film has won various awards, including the Best Animated Feature Film from the 66th Golden Globe Awards. It also received six nominations from the 81st Annual Academy Awards.

Everyone's wanting a sequel for the movie, I too felt the same way after watching it, for the reason that I thought it was wonderful, but stop and think, I think Wall-E should remain like that. A wonderful movie. I can't think of a storyline that would match its greatness, probably even the maker. Let's just make Wall-e, Wall-e. Let it stay like that.
I agree, and Quantum brought up some pretty good points there. Wall E (at least in my opinion) is when of the greatest Pixar movies, and the sequel could show how Wall-E/Eve rebuild earth and get all the other Axiom's back or something. And whats with all the hate ppl? A film like this isnt supposed to bring up pointless hatred that we endure every damn day, Pixar movies in general are meant to bring people together. I admit though, I'm a little pissed that the guy isnt thinking of a sequel, but hes one of the ones who created it, at least be glad for that. :)
i agree with quantum on the movie idea,i also think...THERE HAS 2 B A WALL-E 2 (or sequal) at the of the first WALL-E i was kind of left hanging.thats why i think...THERE HAS 2 B A WALL-E 2(or sequal)
Wall-E is one of my favorite movies and I REALLY hope they make a sequel! If they don't.... You don't wanna know what will happen.
wat a dump ass
Calm down people. he and pixar never considered a cars 2, or a finding nemo 2, or a toy story3 but they are coming. give it 5 years and wall.e 2 will be here.
DIE DIE DIE you fucking maricon director, so as you mr. stanton, if you don't make the sequel i will hunt you and tear you like a piece of pinata!!!
WHAT!? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
He should really reconsider making a Wall-E sequel. Not only is that Wall-E is one of the most amazing movies Pixar dished out,but the story could go anywhere with the ending of the first one. Perhaps Wall-E, Eve, and the rest of the gang could try to send a signal out to the rest of the Axiom's to return to Earth, but something goes wrong, like a super Auto controlling all of the ships or something like that. And if they continue the story from the "credits ending", then maybe a new adventure could happen. Im sure there's many more ideas, but either way Wall-E 2 is a must.
