In line to what Kristen Stewart had said earlier, some parts of "New Moon" will be filmed in Italy. Giving further details on the production in this particular European country, Variety reported that the sequel of "Twilight" will be shot in an ancient town in Tuscany region called Volterra.

The trade further explained that the shooting in Italy will be done for two weeks in May, two months after the principal photography begins in Vancouver in March. The town of Volterra itself, in the Stephenie Meyer's second novel of her "Twilight" series, has been described as the place where the powerful Volturi vampire coven reside.

In relation to the Volturi vampire coven, the Screen Actors Guild Award-nominated actress Dakota Fanning is currently in negotiations to play one of the Volturi members, Jane. "The character is what I would be excited about," she told E! News of the character while promoting "Coraline" over the weekend. "It's kind of evil, something I've never done before, and it's a vampire. You know, it's really cool, so I really hope it works out."

While revealing that she hasn't read "New Moon" novel, the soon-to-be 15-year-old admitted she is flattered to be considered right for the role. "I know that Twilight is so sacred to some people, and I know that when people cast certain people, people have their opinions and that's their right," the "Push" star explained. "That's very flattering that they think I'd be right for the part."

A sequel to 2008 hit vampire drama "Twilight", "New Moon" will be directed by "The Golden Compass" helmer Chris Weitz using the script penned by "Twilight" screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg. The romantic drama will see the return of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner among others.

Centering on the personal conflict Bella experiences, it will chronicle the time Bella Swan is left devastated by the abrupt departure of Edward Cullen. Finding solace in her friendship with Jacob Black, she soon finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves and her loyalty to the vampires is tested. The Summit Entertainment movie is aimed for November 20, 2009 U.S. release.

Kristin stewart fastnate me as soon as I saw the movie. I ende up watching it 4 times in a theatre and I couldn't stop reading the novel since. I hope the 2nd movie come out soon. Dakoda will be perfect for Jane eventhough she seems a little bit more mature than the novel describes her appearances.

As long as they keep it true to the book, I really don't care. I'm sure the Director know's what is doing. Keep in mind there's two more books and that means two more movie's.

They shouldn't have more scenes of Edward and Bella jessica twilight they should stay true to the book as heaven mentioned and if they have a lot of scenes w/ edward in it iu will be very dissappointed because that is not how the book plays it out and you know pj i agree with you on the parts about speeding up those scenes but it also keep the intensity and keeps the audience on the edge of their seat. I will most gladly comemorate the new director if he does a great job but if he doesn't I will be very dissappointed and I think they should extend the time out longer so they have a well put together movie instead of a bad movie that doesn't follow the plot and just messes with everything. I still believ Jodelle Ferland will play a much better Jane than Dakot Fanning ever will but again as I mentioned if she does well i will comemorate her and lexis sorry to put down your dreams but you will probably never play a vampire in the Twilight Saga movie, your chance are 1 in 1000, I don't think you want to go up against those odds, I mean you could but you'd probably be shot down depending on your performance, and just because your pale doesn't mean you'll be a good vampire there is more you have to bring to the character you are playing. As for the rest of you you may think i am a bit of a pessimist but im only saying what i feel.

They should release the movie in January 2010. I worry about the quality of the film with it being put out so early.

Does anyone know of where they are doing casting calls for extras? As I am not Native American but I am very pale and I think I could play the role of a vampire. :D

Dakota as Jane would be great, and I believe the new director will only enhance New Moon. When I heard American Pie, I wasn't too sure about the switch, but then I heard About a Boy and Golden Compass, and felt better. After multiple viewings of Twilight I really believe a new director is a good idea. The flow of the movie was disrupted by several unnecessary slo-mo and close up shots, as well as a few 'how does this scene move the plot along' shots. The books are lengthy, pick the important shots that move things along. This is particularly important for New Moon, where Edward's part should be enhanced (hopefully not by lame flashback and dream scenes) and the growth of Bella and Jacob's relationship told in a way that doesn't take up the whole movie. While I love the relationship between B & J, it is the Cullens that make the Twilight saga.

Dakota Fanny should never play Jane in New Moon she'll ruin the movie, not that the movie isn't already ruined by having a new director I wouldn't mind having the movie coming out a few months late, so that they can have a well put together and extremly good movie, and seriously the director from American Pie!!! WTF!!! They must have been really desperate, and I wish they would have other unknown actors play in this movie, like Jodelle Ferland would, be perfect for Jane and has all the right features such as dark brown hair, a bottecilli face, and she knows how to play a significatly demented person. Dakot fanning hasn't even read the books or even grasped the concept of how perfectly evil jane is, she is just looking for a another pay check, as always.

Dakota is a good actress and will be great as Jane. What I'm dreading is having to watch 90 minutes of Taylor/Jacob with Bella...just shoot me now. I really hope they find a way to add a few more scenes with Rob.

Dakota Fanning will do good as "Jane" but she needs to put a lot of effort to look vile and not so innocent face

I'm so excited for New Moon. I'm a big fan of Dakota. Even thought she's a really sweet girl, she's a super talented actress, so I think she can pull it off. I'm glad they got a new director. Keep up the amazing work!

Dakota is extremely talented and even though Jane is a small role I think she could do a really great job.

I agree with Dakota having a small role.I just dont see her taking a backburn character when she is used to being the lead.

Why is it that all the reports keep saying she will star beside Rob Pattison. She might be in a screen with him, but not with him all the time. People need to read the books. Plus she wouldn't be in it for much of the movie (or shouldn't because it's supposed to be true to the book).

Why the fuss over Dacotta. Its only a small role. A couple of scenes at most.

She's only in it for a few minutes.

I can totally see Dakota Fanning as Jane. Jane is to be an evil innocent. The kind of think twice before you judge. The judgement of Jane is evil.
