Through out the process of giving birth to her third child, Erykah Badu writes Twitter messages, giving updates on the time between her contractions before the baby is born.

AceShowbiz - R 'n' B singer Erykah Badu has given birth to a baby daughter, her first child with rapper boyfriend Jay Electronica. Confirming the good news, a representative for her issued a statement to US Weekly, detailing, "Erykah gave birth to a baby girl at her home on February 1, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. The baby's father, [rapper] Jay Electronica, and her two children were in attendance."
Erykah delivered the baby at her Brooklyn, New York home with the help of a midwife. Through out the process of giving birth her daughter, she sent Twitter messages, announcing, "Morning, I'm in labor." Rubbing Erykah's feet Jay added, "Labor has begun. Everybody stand back. No hospitals. No doctors. No medicine. We're waiting for the midwife to show."
Soon after the baby daughter was born, Jay wrote, "Feb. 1 2009 my first child, my daughter born at 130 PM exactly. It's the happiest day of my life." Erykah continued writing, "I can't believe it's over. Home birth, no painkillers, about five hours, she was a little past due date, but I didn't mind waiting. Breath."
Despite all the details which have been shared, Erykah and Jay didn't mention the name of their baby girl. Mother and daughter were said to be doing fine.
Erykah Badu has been dating Jay Electronica for three years. In addition to the newborn baby girl, Erykah also has one son, named Seven Sirius Benjamin, from a previous relationship with Andre Benjamin. She also has one daughter, Puma, with ex-boyfriend, rapper The D.O.C.
