Nick Lachey wishes his ex-wife Jessica Simpson "nothing but the best" and hopes "she's happy - whatever size that comes in" amidst all the hype concerning her fuller figure.

AceShowbiz - Nick Lachey is speaking out about the wide media attention that his ex-wife Jessica Simpson receives due to her fuller figure, which was first caught on camera during her performance at the Radio 99.9 Kiss Country's annual Chili Cookoff in Pembroke Pines, Fla. on Sunday, January 25, telling Extra he wishes her "nothing but the best". He, furthermore, hopes "she's happy - whatever size that comes in."
Speaking about how he perceives the weight gain jabs that the media addresses to Jessica, the former 98 Degrees singer openly admits, "I can't believe it's this big of a story and people are making such a huge deal about it." He then adds, "I'm never ceased to be amazed by people's reactions to things."
Nick Lachey is joining the likes of Ashlee Simpson, Kim Kardashian, and Pete Wentz who have all stood by Jessica Simpson over her weight scandal. In the meantime, Jessica keeps receiving support and sentiments from a number of fellow celebs, naming some are Paula Abdul, Rose McGowan and Jordana Brewster.
As for Paula, the "American Idol" judge tells US Weekly, "I think this is absolutely ridiculous. People are being so mean. People don't realize that it's damaging to one's psyche. For women, it's hard enough to be accepted for how you are."
Rose, meanwhile, says, "It's sad because you see a lot of male actors who gain a lot of weight in between roles. The reality is, if I went and gained 30 pounds in between roles, I wouldn't get roles. I think that's sexism, and it drives me crazy!"
"I think she is beautiful. I think it's really, really hard in Hollywood because there is an absurd standard that is really hard. It absolutely sucks. She shouldn't be judged so harshly," Jordana says of Jessica's weight gain.
