Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett Honored With Stamps

Australian Postal Service will honor Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Russell Crowe, and Geoffrey Rush with stamps, which will be sold as part of Australia Day, January 26.

Australian Oscar-winning actresses and are about to be honored by Australian Postal Service, having their famous faces featured on a postage stamp. Beside them, the country will also bestow actors and with the same honor.

The foursome will be all featured on stamps, to be resealed as part of Australia Day on January 26, in characters and as themselves. Their characters which will be used for the stamps are taken from the films they won Oscars for; Nicole in "Moulin Rouge" (2001), Cate in "Elizabeth" (1998), Geoffrey in "Shine" (1996), and Russell in "Gladiator" (2000).

"These four outstanding Australians have captured the imagination of millions of people in Australia and around the world with their award-winning performances," Sydney Morning Herald quotes Australia Post managing director Graeme John as stating.

Nicole, Cate, Russell, and Geoffrey's stamps, which will be eight in total, will be sold for 55 Australian cents. Each of the celebrities will be presented with 24-carat gold replicas of their stamps.

Your reporting is inaccurate. While the characters representing Crowe and Rush were their Oscar-winning roles, Nicole Kidman won her Oscar for The Hours, and Cate Blanchett won hers for The Aviator. Just wanted to point that out.
