Sticking to the family, staying grounded, and having sleepovers with friends, are among the advice that Demi Lovato gives for Malia and Sasha Obama about how to deal with the spotlight.

AceShowbiz - Feeling honored that she's been invited to perform at the much awaited "Kids' Inaugural: We Are The Future", Demi Lovato said Friday, January 16 at the Television Critics Association gathering that she would love to give U.S. president elect Barack Obama's daughters some advice about how to live a life under the media microscope. "I would give them definitely the advice to always know that your family is there for you. You can go to your family with anything," she stated.

Besides, "don't forget who you are. I think that's a mistake that a lot of people make. And it's something that my family keeps me from making," she continued advising Malia and Sasha. Last but not least, "don't stop going places just because people might see you. And don't stop having sleepovers with your friends, and don't stop trick-or-treating."

Though feeling "ridiculously nervous" about her scheduled performance at the inaugural event, Demi Lovato is hoping Barack Obama can bring positive changes to the country. "Well, our economic system is in a crisis right now," Demi shared. "I definitely hope that that will change. Also ... I hope that the war resolves. Whether we win or lose or whatever, it doesn't matter. I hope that it just ends. So you know, I think that Barack Obama will be able to help us."

At the "Kids' Inaugural: We Are The Future", scheduled to take place on January 19 at the Verizon Center, Demi will be performing her songs "Get Back" and "La-La Land." Also tapped to take the stage at the concert, held to honor military families, are Bow Wow, Usher, as well as Sasha and Malia Obama's favorites, the Jonas Brothers. The event, to be hosted by Michelle Obama alongside Jill Biden, will air on the Disney Channel at 8 P.M. ET.
