R. Kelly and his estranged wife Andrea Lee are officially singles in the eyes of law as their divorce has been finalized. Lawyers for both of them issued a joint statement on Thursday, January 8, confirming the dissolution of their marriage.
"The parties have reached an amicable resolution concerning all issues related to their marriage and will share joint custody of their three children," the lawyers said in a statement. "The details of this agreement will remain confidential and the family requests that their privacy be respected during this time."
R. Kelly and Andrea Lee, a former back-up dancer, tied the knot in 1996. They are parents to three children; daughters Jaya and Joann, and son Robert Jr. Prior to marrying Lee, Kelly was briefly married to late singer Aaliyah.
