'Monsters vs. Aliens' to Bring First 3-D Trailer to Super Bowl, Promo Video Released

Super Bowl XLIII will see more than a football match-up as DreamWorks will promote its upcoming animation movie, 'Monsters vs. Aliens', during the halftime using a 3-D preview of its trailer.

"" will take participation in Super Bowl XLIII on February 1 as claimed through the latest promotional video of the animated movie. During the Colts and Chargers playoff game, a Super Bowl promo video for new "Monsters vs. Aliens" trailer has been shown, revealing that the trailer will be aired using 3-D technology.

The sneak preview to the comedy animation will last about 90 seconds and marks the first time a 3-D telecast has been done for such a large audience. Additionally, it is reported that some 150 million 3-D glasses, which use the new Intel InTru 3D and ColorCode 3-D, will be given away at Pepsi/ SoBe Life Water displays in retail outlets. Jeffrey Katzenberg, the chief executive of DreamWorks Animation, called the stunt "perhaps the biggest media-advertising event in history."

Telling the story of alien invasion on Earth, "Monsters vs. Aliens" follows Susan Murphy, a girl whose life is changed forever after she is being hit by a meteor. After suddenly grew to be 49-feet-11-inches tall and deemed as monster, she is captured and being confined with other monsters. But when a mysterious alien robot storms the Earth, Susan and the others become the government's last resort on saving the world.

Featuring the voices of , , , , and many else, the DreamWorks Animation' 3-D movie will be available in U.S. theaters on March 27, 2009.
