'High School Musical 3: Senior Year' Songs Considered for Oscar Nomination

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are considering to nominate 'High School Musical 3: Senior Year' theme songs as 'Best Original Song'.

AceShowbiz - Either one or a few "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" songs may appear on the nominations list of the 81st Annual Academy Awards. Four songs out of twelve tracks appearing on the movie's soundtrack album are reportedly eligible for "Best Original Song" contenders.

The soundtracks, considered to be put on the list, are "Just Getting Started", "The Boys Are Back", "Can I Have This Dance", and "A Night To Remember". On January 16, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will screen the clips from the Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens-starring film and then decide which songs should be nominated.

Oscar nominations will be announced on January 22, 2009. Meanwhile, its winners will be revealed in a live ceremony, hosted by Hugh Jackman, on February 22, 2009 from Hollywood's Kodak Theatre.
