Eddie Murphy is The Riddler in "Batman 3", so claimed The Sun. According to the British publication, the "Meet Dave" actor has been signed by director Christopher Nolan to carry out The Riddler, a villainous character once made famous by Jim Carrey in 1995's "Batman Forever", in the sequel of "The Dark Knight".
On the speculation over the actor's possible involvement, an insider stated, "Eddie's a fantastic addition. Everyone's excited to see what he does as the Riddler." If this casting report is proven to be true, it will put off the circulation rumor that "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor Johnny Depp is in the forefront run for the part.
Apart from breaking out that Eddie could be attached to the next Batman installment movie, The Sun also reported that "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" star Shia LaBeouf could be the next Robin in "Batman 3", while Christian Bale and Michael Caine will reprise their roles as Bruce Wayne and his assistant Alfred. Nonetheless, Warner Bros. has yet to give any comments on all of these speculations.
Previously, it has also been rumored that Rachel Weisz is one of the potential actresses, beside Angelina Jolie and Cher, to play Catwoman in the third of the proposed "Batman" trilogy which started with "Batman Begins". Up to date, no word has been shared from Rachel, her camp or even the studio over the rumor.

Whatever... i love rumors like these. Chris Nolan is on vacation folks. If anything he'll make 2 or 3 movies between now and the next Batman movie (if there is a need for one). This is typical media crap: "let's find out how excited people still are about the dark knight movie by putting out rumors about the next one a week before christmas"! I'd rather have a turd in my stocking than keep hearing about this crap. You know what i'd like to see happen? Production and release of the entire next batman movie to be kept completely quiet and then BAM! just release it at every theater in the world all on one day (and not even a Friday) and just watch people's reaction. Shock n Awe, foaming at the mouth, cats and dogs living together... MASS HYSTERIA!
TDK doesn't need a sequel ! Like the way Godfather doesn't need a triology ! TDK is perfect, let it become history !
Batman 3 hasn't even started yet, but from the recent rumors its gonna stink. The way the Batman franchise has gone the past two movies have been great. It returned to its original comics route. Eddie Murphy is not serious enough of an actor to take the Riddler to a dark place as Heath took the Joker. Bruce Wayne according to the timelines so far is still too young to be having Robin come tagging along.
